finding sarah glitch!

Hi all, im struggling with the finding sarah level on isle sorna. When i come to the part where you shoot the two targets to build the jump pad with an axe attached to clear the branches/roots the axe cuts through twice and then stops. No matter how many times i jump the axe moves but has no effect on the roots and so i cant get the blue treasure tp progress. I have googled it but can find no mention of this glitch anywhere , feel like im going mad , can it be just my game that has the prob?

These usually work for Lego graphics problems..
Start by reducing all effects and graphics to the lowest/off settings, and if you've got any Extras switched on, turn them off till you get through the problem, then you can change things back to your preferred settings.
Those are often enough, but if that doesn't solve it, you could try playing in compatability mode.
As a last resort, if you are playing in DX11, change to DX9. But this will corrupt your saved games and you will have to overwrite and start again.
