Remote Play
Game sends me out of game and won't allow me back in after pushing remote play/having it connect. Any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem. Invited a buddy over, and as soon as he starts to connect I get thrown to desktop with the game running in background. Can't get back to it either and have to forcibly close down the game via task manager. Remote play is nice, but pretty useless in this case. :(

I somehow made it work. This is how I did it. I don't know if it's a fluke or what, but I went to the steamapps - common - and right clicked on the .exe game file and hit properties. Go into the "compatibility" tab and check "disable fullscreen optomization". Then I went into the game, invited someone, then alt tabbed back in the game and touched NOTHING until they could see and hear it, then play the game! They won't be able to join until you load up or start the game. Hope this helps!

We are having exactly the same problem. Any solutions? Running the latest nvidia drivers / steam client. The problem occurs on my laptop as well as on my desktop, so not related to specific hardware. The laptop is an older i7 while the desktop is an ryzen 3600. Both have nvidia cards. Tried with and without hardware encoding enabled.

The solution proposed by "Byte Me" above works for me as well.
Another option seems to be to switch back to DirectX 9 (in the in-game graphics settings).
