Game makes computer crazy hot?
Hi all, I'm really enjoying the game but for whatever reason, it makes my laptop case feel dangerously hot, especially near my GPU. I'm wondering if there is some configuration to adjust or something, becuase all my other lego games do not make my laptop feel hot at all.

In fact, with the exception of Just Cause 3, pretty much all of my games run without causing to much heat. (And yes my fans are working, clean, and not blocked)

also your laptop is probably getting old or it just cant handle the graphics of this game
(maybe because they are not set to low)

this is the only advice I have for you hope it helps
it has a gtx 860.... not the most premier card these days but well above the recomended specs. I did mess around with some visual settings but didn't notice much of a difference.

I have the exact same problem. I'm running the program on an Alienware PC, with a GTX 745. It's not the best card, but it's also not the worst card, and it shouldn't have so many problems running this game.

I suspect the problem is that the game has no way to artificially limit its framerate. It's trying to run in excess of 60 FPS, which is causing the GPU to go nuts trying to keep up with the rendering, especially if any effects at all are turned on. LEGO Jurassic World also has no means to run the game in a window, so it's doing this full resolution rendering thing which generates even more heat.

It makes me really sad, though, because I adore this game and I miss playing it. I was able to play it more when my computer was newer, but it's about four or five years old, now, and I'm hesitant to push it so hard. The game runs around 85°C at the coolest, and it pushes dangerously close to my GPU's 95°C operational limit. Bottom line, I'm really hesitant to do much with this game because of how hot it runs.

Please advise, developers, if you're still alive out there somewhere. We want to enjoy your game, but we can't. :(

Most GPU, weither onboard or External Gpu (desktop GPU) all run hot. but I do agree that anything over 85°C is starting to get hot. Most newer GPU will/should throttle themself before they get to a limit that it cooks its self and or just shut down PC to save it self. However older gpu are suppose to do this too. But depending on make/model and weither AMD/NVidia.

Try also make sure your running latlest drivers from either
www.amd.com
www.nvidia.com

For Desktop gpus, Doesn't matter if Asus or MSI or Gigabyte etc etc.
Most newer Laptops shouldn't matter too, howerver if have older laptop. You may be best just get the video driver from your manufacturer. But they aren't always most up today. Again depending on laptop.

On Laptop, Sometime there extra connection or dock bays or SD Card slot. I found if remove SD card slot. it was simple cover that I remved on my older Asus laptop (2012 i7 with AMD 5730 gpu ) help my older laptop with world of warcraft run bit better with bit more airflow back in the day.

Anything on Nvidia side with 6xx series or newer (desktop or mobile gpu) should throtttle down before it cook itself unless your system/laptop is badly cloged with dust/dog/cat hair or other stuff.
As for Amd has always ran hotter for me.

(Somebody prob try troll or flame me for this)

You may be able run MSI afterburner on some laptops, Not for overclocking, But see if you can control the GPU fan. But it compleatly depending on the type System/Laptop you currently have and current GPU in the system. Newer Laptop today are adding full desktop GPU and fans from 1060 upto 1080 or AMD Vega. Most newer gaming laptops (2012 or newer?) have big huge vents at back or side of laptop too let your laptop breath better. Older laptops may not work.

Good idea buy can of air and try to clean out some that dust in your laptop or desktop GPU.
There plenty of video around youtube show you how to do this saftly. Just remeber never hold air can upside down, as you'd be blowing water inside your computer= Bad idea.
Always hold can up right and short little burst..
while older video.. It still one many out there

good luck. Hope that helps some:)

Also, avoiding battery charging by
1. running on battery alone without the charger connected
or
2. having the computer run directly on power with the battery removed/disconnected

will eliminate a major heat producer that might contribute to the problem if the gpu is anywhere near the battery.
