is Electric/Shield ever viable?

i havent made this work yet. it seems like it is always better to focus on ammo/fuel.


note: i am on the demo so if there are pilots/trinkets that can help i havent seen this

update: i made it to endless and got wrecked by a shield build one time. not sure if it was from purely stacking electricity or if they had some device.

The electricity deflector shield is one of those things that gets better the more you invest (15%->16% is a smaller increase in effective defense than 49% -> 50%)
That being said, it is more of a side thing that gets build up as the run progresses: spare parts and transporter pads (both universal). It also helps if the captain is heal focussed.

On its own it is not so great, given armor already gives a 15% damage reduction while you have some in addition to the linear reduction.
