Rapture stuck in demo mode, will not launch in activation mode
I have tried launching with microhost/actiat option, but it never asks me to activate, just goes straight to demo mode. I have tried Running as Admin, no change. After that didn’t work, I uninstalled SONAR and every related component ( i.e. Rapture, Sound Center, Loop Mgr, etc)… I then reinstalled SONAR.. then reinstalled Rapture Session and Pro.
I launched Rapture in the “Microhost and Activate” option, and it STILL opened in demo mode, without asking for activation… What gives??

If it means anything, I did have Music Creator 7 previousy installed, (previous purchase that led me to Sonar in the first place). but I uninstalled it along with SONAR and the other components. Is it possible there is some sort off activation license file that doesnt get uninstalled?

As a further note, I tried uninstalling everything Sonar related again... This time I went to the various Cakewalk folders (C:/Program Data, Steamapps/common/cakewalk) and removed them as well, because they apparently stay even after Sonar is deleted. Reinstalled everything, tire to launch Rapter Session using the Microhost and Activation option, and .... nothing.. Never asks me to activate, just launches into demo mode...

If you're never seeing the Activation Window that means Windows UAC elevation isn't being called or you're on a Windows account that is restricted. This can't be resolved by re-installations.

1) Try running Steam as Administrator (via Right-Clicking on the icon) and then running the microhost.
2) Make sure you're logged into an Administrator Windows account, I've seen normal accounts suppress Windows UAC on many occasions.

I have another thing to try.

1) Delete the 'abbadon' file from C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Rapture Session\Command Center\

2) Then open Regedit and delete this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\SteamReg\CWRS200

3) Then run Steam as admin and run the Session Microhost again.

If you have any cached registration info, this will remove it.

Excellent! That did the trick.
FWIW, the \Rapture Session\Command Center\ folder was empty when I started. But the CWRS200 key was there... I deleted it, and the activation window came up when I launched Session.. Thanks!

I have the same issue, but I can't even find the mentioned files. Nothing seems to be able to launch the activation window.
Can this still be fixed?
