Lucas Pope made a Ludum Dare entry a few years back, before even Papers, Please. It was called the Republia Times and it appears that the devs here decided to take that idea and hope to follow in the success of Lucas Pope.

To be fair, taking a good idea and making a good game out of it is not something to be discouraged. The problem I'm having is people basically saying it's just Republica Times but prettier. EVEN THAT I would still buy at, say, $3. I'm not spending the same price as Undertale for a Republica Times graphics set, though.

It says in the cedits under "special thanks" it has Lucas Pope, the creator of Republia Times.

Well I was messing around with the files and changed some of the music for the Papers, Please tunes heh.
Unfortunately haven't been able to mod more than that yet, but hoping to be able to as this game seems to be good for about 3 playthoughs as it stands.
