As I look on screens it reminds me of "History Line: 1914-1918" from Blue Byte. That was really grate game. Unbelivible it's already 23 years since release and time I played it... damn I'm old :/

Anyone can tell me if "Spirit of War" plays/feels simmilar to it?

yes it's the same gameplay with tanks, infantries, planes, boats, etc etc.Although it is not phase based (Turn A for moves, turn B for action), just turn based.Between two maps, there also a long description of historical events, like it was in HL.Conditions of victory are the same.
So yes the feeling is the same as it was in BI HL.
For now, after a few maps, I'm conquished.

Never played History Line from Blue Byte but did play Battle Isle from them too. I wonder. That said I'll investigate about History Line it's sad but I'll probably find more comments/reviews.

I wonder if the dev did his work of promotion, I couldn't find a single review of the game.

EDIT: Yeah History Line seems very similar and quite similar game engine than Battle Isle.

I wouldn't spite on a modernized version of the Battles Isle simultaneous turns approach. But ok I get it's a difficult decision to take in contemporary context. Battle World Kronos gave up do it. I'm close to buy it with the only question at what shop. :-)

But that would be so cool to have a few more feedback, looks like for net reviews it won't be before some time and with the risk of rushed review that try hide the rush.

Just saw this game on IndieGala and immediately thought of one of my all time favorite games, History Line. How close are they? sound, graphics, game play etc.
I have History line on GOG, and still play it. but would certainly like to get a more modern version .

I would say the main difference is the turn based mechanics. In BI HL, it was phase based. Here, it's only a turn based : you can move and fire (or fire and move) in the same turn with action points. So it affects the whole strategic approach
IMO I prefer the BI phase based system

Games as Battle World Kronos and Spirit of War are definitely in the lineage of Battle Isle and History Line. which is rather rare, there's very few games in that lineage. But you shouldn't expect a remake of Battle Isle/History Line through Battle Worlds Kronos/Spirit of War. Not only the turn based system is different but the design have many differences.

Spirit of War is much more like a light Battle Worlds Kronos, it's pleasant and I enjoy play it (only 6 maps from 1st campaign) but for now it's a bit easy. Dev should improve the AI or at least add play modes with handicap for the player.

For the turn based system:
- There's AP for moving only and AP for either action (attack, dig or fill a trench) either moving.
- Some unit (artilleries) can only either move either shoot. Most other can spend some movement points and attack and then spend more movement points, or can use AP for attack for extra movement.
- The facing of unit influence the combats for example get attacked from back is a disaventadge, but change facing cost no AP.
- The more units surround an enemy unit the more this enemy unit is disadvantaged.
- There's 5 types of terrain, one can be build/unbuild it's trench, terrain influence movements, defense for some, attack for some, damages for some.
- There's 3 types of attack, ground, air, sea.
- When a unit attack the attacked unit fire back, the number of fire back isn't limited.
- Unit damaged does less damages when attacking.
- Turns are count but maps haven't a number of turn limit.

Otherwise there's various types of units vehicles, armored, transports, plane. In buildings you can repair/heal. Factories allow build. Each side has a HQ and lost it is lost the map, the other way is kill all enemy units. And during a map, units can gain xp and level up 5 time.
