I don't play either of those types of games. 60 FPS feels better regardless of the genre. Smooth is smooth, 30 fps is not smooth. Game seems interesting but I can't deal with 30 fps. Most PC gamers play on PC to avoid the FPS limitations of consoles.
This right here.
DEV is wrong. 30 FPS mentality is obsolete and only supported/encouraged by console players.
PC's do not have hardware limitations like consoles, so this cap needs to be removed.
EDIT: At least make it optional.
Surprise surprise.. the game feels exactly the same it did on my laptop.
What the hell is going on?
I checked the fps using Fraps and actually discovered it's locked at 30 FPS.
Is there a way to "unlock" it?
How is that not enough for your game?! I'm running a 3770k, a 980Ti and am getting very smooth on 1080p.
More and more I see 1070's and 1080's in loads of new games complain of bad performance. I'm starting to think it's Pascal that is the problem.
Some friends and me were interested in this game, but 30fps arbitrary stupid cap is an effective deterrent, especially with a lot of competitors titles on Steam to choose from without this nonsense limitation. Seriously.
PLEASE REMOVE FPS CAP.
P.S.
Of course we belive the true essence of a game is in its climax, story, characters and gameplay, but locked at 30fps on the PC is just an offense to smart players nowadays.
Yes we want good games, but also with a good technical level. Both things are possible.
Removed from my list of wanted games, sorry.
Bye
This is encouraging. You're not doing anyone a favor by pretending that framerate is tied to the "pace" of the game. I play a broad spectrum of games, from turn-based strategy/RPG games to puzzle/adventure games to visual novels, and framerate locks aren't justified in any case. Framerate defines the smoothness of motion, and literally the instant I saw the female move in the prologue, I realized there was a problem.
I'll be waiting to play the game until you fix this.
For the people asking about engine limitations--there are no engine limitations. I've made a number of prototypes in Unity and there is absolutely no framerate cap.
(Hint: Use FixedUpdate instead of Update, really that simple)
