So about that food!
The name should be changed to Valhalla Food. There is a serious issue between food and production.. and yes I had a bakery. It seems that the person that went to get the bread from storage got incredibly hungry carrying 1 bread so ate that 1 bread. They eat bread is no different than berries, fish, rabbit...they carry 1 or 2 items and they are too hungry to work.. What is with games today and their idea of hard is make villagers, vikings, or whatever consume food at a rapid rate?

Settlers (not the last one) you had more challenges than just keeping up food and food was not an issue.. I know. I still play it..

Cultures.. food was not the challenge and you could feed your people and get production going smoothly. I still play cultures..

This game is more about food and space than anything else. Bread is the same as berries, mushrooms, meat, and fish..

This is still Early Access.. so this is my imput. I have three games that are newer than settlers and cultures..and those 3 games have the same challenge feeding your people and claiming the challenge is something else.

Food should be a challenge in a survival game..not this type of game. Different food should have buffs like this more furfilling than this and will keep your people more furfilled longer..

I do like the graphics. The buildings are interesting and fun to unlock. The portals also interesting and fun.

But the space given (meaning where you can put buildings and not map size) and food is the downfall of this game to me..the food is biggest problem and challenge in the game..

One day I will learn to go with my gut feeling about these new games and stop wasting money on them..

Well, as you can read here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/351910/discussions/0/481115363853698437/
there is a difference between the different kinds of food, even if you say you don't see it.
I don't know how big your island is, but maybe 1 bakery is not enough? For the larger islands you definitely need more.
And yes, currently food is the biggest challenge in the game (maybe apart from finding the gold spots in the mountains ;) )

It was not that big of an island. It shows a different value yes, but I watched one viking eat 3 bread in mere seconds.. He would get wheat take it the miller.. get bread. Wash, rinse, and repeat.. The value they give the food means nothing. Also if they are going to need food at that rapid rate they need to speed up production. The hauling of 1 log, wheat, bread, fish, and etc is just down right silly for this kind of game..it leads to disaster.

And to be honest food should "not" be the biggest challenge. I can not believe these people also created Cultures and The Settlers..

I am not saying the balance needs to be perfect.. but this isn't a survival or restraunt game..

Guess I am old school and do not find food challenges in this type of game amusing. At least change the name because it is not what they claim.

When the mobs are easier than feeding a village there is a problem.

I personally don't have a problem with this. And maybe this will change, when they add the new dwarfen race (or however they will call it) as active computer opponent on 2nd of December. Let's wait and see.

The problem I hvae with food in the game is I have TONs of it, but they starve to death instead of going and getting it. Have storage with 30 fish in it, and the army guys die instead of getting it.

I make sure I have the path's and everythign going. To combat that issue I would move the army camp to near the food bins and the fishing huts.. But I should not have to move the army to get food when its so close to them already.

The FOOD in the game is the biggest issue, and it is detracting from the rest of the game for me.
If you hvae 100s of food and roads everywhere, and storage bins and all that, and your people are staving or spending most of thier time complaining about food. Something is out of wack.

(yes I have the hunters, the bakery, the kitchen and all that too)

But if the people will not walk 5 feet to get the food, its not right.

Just my opinion.
