Trade tutorial
I can't seem to get my merchants or carriers to take a cart with flour to the ship. They can either be attached to the cart or else the ship.

If attached to the ship, they stay in there and won't come out. There are no controls in the ship screen to tell them to load something up.

If attached to a cart, right clicking on the ship doesn't do anything, whether merchant or carrier.

A merchant with a cart can't choose the ship as a "trading post" so you can't get them to load flour on the ship in that way either.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you change their profession to from Merchant to Carrier. Carriers can load boats with goods and vehicles, but they cannot use the cart to load the boat though.

So, change the profession of one of your Merchants to Carrier, attach him to the Trade Cart, then attach the Trade Cart to the boat. When they have boarded, click on the boat and change the amount of required flour to 5. ;)

How do you change the amount of required flour? In my "boat" there is a display showing how much of each good I have, but there is no control to alter the amount of flour (or any other good). Is there a button somewhere in the boat display that I'm missing?

Tried again. I had a merchant fill up the cart with flour and attached his cart to the boat. He took the cart to the boat and both entered. The cart had flour in it still, but the boat did not. Its like he took it onboard but left the flour in the cart.

The ship must have a Carrier on board in order to change the amount of goods. Don't put the flour in the cart, you have to load it into the boat directly.

Thanks. I'll try that. It starts with a carrier already onboard. I assume he's fine for that purpose. So, if there is a carrier then there will be some means of telling it to load up?

Wait, since I'm using one of my merchants (who has been changed to a carrier) should I tell the carrier in the boat to get out?

If there is a Carrier assigned to the boat, you should be able to adjust the amount of goods on the ship. Try to look at the seperate tabs as well inside the boat window.

Thanks. I figured it out.

Why does ship need handcart if it isn't used? In 1st case I've assigned handcart to carrier who already was on ship (commander), in 2nd case I've changed one of merchants to carrier and assigned handcart to him. After I assigned handcart to ship, they rolled it to ship and it has never left it. I told them to upload flour and they did it without handcart, on their backs. Why?!

The ship doesn't need a handcart, but a ship can carry a handcart to a different island so it can be used there.

Man. I took 1 hour in this tutorial. I am so mad!

Now I'm searching discussions related to this on Steam, but still can't figure how to pass that.
