What happened to the voice over?
Back on Re;Birth1 almost all conversations were voice acted, I think only the Fairy Fencer F collab was the one I remember that had no voice acting on it. But here on Re;Birth2, there's no voice acting immediately after the short talk with Histoire, only text... =___=")

Edit: referring to Jp VA

Man, we sure are getting this thread at least 3 times a day.

There is a ton more VA work in HDN;RB2 then there was in HDN;RB1 and a hell of a lot more has been dubbed. There's a few places that are text only be frankly I remember when games were text only .... this is a massive improvment on HDN:RB1 so quit the belly aching or i'll get some egg plants.

↑ not sure if being sarcastic or what. On Re:Birth1 almost all conversations were voice acted, as I said, the intro for Polytan Dengeki Fest was the only one I remember that had no voice acting. On Re;Birth2 there are sporadic voice acting.

I'm pretty sure I encountered some scenes without VA in Rebirth 1.

I'm playing Re:Birth1 at the moment(chapter 6 so far) and i would say ~20-30% of the conversations are voiced.

Yes in English Audio HDN;RB1 has 30% voice acted compared to the about 90% in Japanese, in HDN;RB2 for every bit of Japanese audio there is an English version as far as i can tell.

That is why I say there is far more VA work in RB2 then RB1

Thats nice to read, the english VO of Re:Birth1 is actually pretty nice (in my opinion). Just buying RB2 now before the sale ends :catpaw:

To answer OP's question for like the 10th time in less than 2 days, many scenes in RB2 lack voice acting because the devs added extra dialogue after having recorded the original script and they were unable to get back the VAs to record these new lines. Doesn't matter which language you pick here, English and Japanese VO lack the same amount of lines this time.

There are pieces of VA missing in Japanese, some in the beginning, and some more near the end. The English VA has more than the first game however.
Ragnawind Jun 5, 2015 @ 11:29am
This time around, as others have said, there is more english VA, but less Japanese VA. This is true of the original Japanese release as well. This has the exact same amount of Japanese voices as the Japanese version.

if you're talking about the jpn dub, then yes re;birth 1 had a lot of voice acting. If you mean the eng dub, most of re;birth 1 had no eng dub.

in re;birth 2 the bonus event scenes from chirper aren't voiced at all, neither eng nor jpn. I'm not sure that they were even voiced in MK2. re;birth 2 has as much voice acting in eng as jpn.

if you still don't agree, go back and play re;birth 1.

"On Re:Birth1 almost all conversations were voice acted"

No they were not, only like 20-30% of it. Unless you are talking about Japanese Voices, in that case you would be correct.

He was obviously talking about the Japanese VA.

How do you know? While it makes sense, he should have pointed that out before.

Why would anyone complain about the lack of voice acting in several scenes in RB2 if his only experience with the previous game was with the English VA, which is far more lacking than RB2's English VA? Especially when OP was comparing RB2 to RB1. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to realize that he was talking about the JP VA in RB1.
