Once again, age gate for a T rated game because of anime girls -_-

What the hell is this crap? Why the hell is the west so fearful that showing skin on anime girls will corrupt them beyond repair? Serriously, this is not even an M rated game, but every time i've gone to the store page, it gives me a friggin age gate! Tired of this damn bias against japanese/anime games.

It was probably age gated for the same reason the original on PS3 was rated M, it has child r*ape referenced, it's got the idea of hentai placed in the beginning, I could go on for a few more reasons, however those two reasons I just put down are still in this game.

Or it only age gates randomly, or once, and remembers it for more than 20 seconds. :)

Also, even if it's Age gated, I don't see the issue, all you have to do is put in your birthday.

this is not the same game. This is rebirth 2, which was changed a fair amount and never released on the PS3. It was on the Vita. It's not got the same story as the game you are referencing.

It still has the conquest ending, and I doubt that particular scene was completely changed, but it wouldn't surprise me.

It only got T rated, which imo is perfectly reasonable for the game.

You can see a small writeup for games on the ESRB website that give some of the reasons why games get the ratings they do. Here's the one for Rebirth;2

It's not like they gave it an Adult or Mature rating. A Teen rating is fine for this kind of content.

Edit: Nevermind I misread the intent of this thread, it's not a complaint that the Teen rating is unsuitable for the game but rather that steam is age gating a Teen game. My bad.

you can also read the reasons for the rating MK2 got, and you will find some of the quoted lines are not in this game. MK2 != Re;2, which is important to know.

and if there is an age gate (not sure I've seen it though) i wouldn't blame the rating, or even the game. I would blame the community screenshots section. 1% of the game is depicited in like 30% of the screenshots. lol

but again no age-gate for me though.

No Age Gate for me either. But USK here in Germany gave the game a "For children at the age of 12 and above" rating.^^ (At least for the PS Vita version)
