I'm confused ...

I finished HDN RB 1 a few minutes ago and now I want to continue the story, but before I can do that I have a few questions..

Who's this stupid Nepgear character, why do I have to play as her, is this game connected to 1 in any way, if not is it connected to 3 because then I would skip this game and start playing Re Birth 3 and did I miss a game between 1 and 2

First, Nepgear is Neptune's sister, the CPU candidate for Planeptune.
Why so many people hate her? She's so cute...
Second, Neptunia Re;Birth1 is a standalone game, while Re;Birth2 is set in an alternate universe and is the start of a new series, with Re;Birth3 being its direct sequel (and the upcoming Victory II after that).

Nepgear is Neptune's little sister. She's a character that's unlockable in re;birth 1. Since Neptune is the main character, I guess they made her main for this game since she's another candidate from Planeptune.

RB 1 has nothing to do with 2 or 3. Different dimensions.

2 and 3 are linked and you're not missing our any games between 1 and 2.

Would I miss out on something if I would skip this game?

You can unlock Neptune in chapter 5 but you don't get to use her much. :<

You wouldn't exactly miss anything for the story in RB 3 but occasionally Nepgear recalls things about RB 2 in the beginning and a few mentions of other things such as The Deity of Sin in conversations later on. I wouldn't worry too much about it so it's fine to skip RB 2.

Nepgear is just... the game was worse than 1.. okay...
She's the protagonist and that's why..
Also I'd rather play as Neptune... Nepgear is just a typical side character. She's not supposed to be the protagonist.
