[Sequel] Eternal Senia ~Hydrangea After the Rain~

The sequel has been released, but first we need to get something straight...

IT'S A FREE CLICKER GAME.
Yes, it's a clicker, not turn based RPG.
So what is this clicker differnet from others?
-It has the same format of a clicker fighting game, every 5 sections you will meet a mini boss. However, when you defeat it, the plot will advance.
-There's is an ending for this clicker, which is a lot of other clickers don't have.
-You can know more about the world while progressing through the game.
-Almost every partner is obtainable by loot drops. The only ones you need to buy are meme characters(i.e. Husky)
-The four combat skills from Eternal Senia are still in game(yay?)
-They still manage to put in some real time combat elements in it. The Shadow Dash can parry boss attacks if you time it right(once you reach lvl40), which add skill level into the game.
-There's an element system (Fire,Water,Earth,Light and Darkness), utilize it to make the clicking easier.
-Fairy Headbutt. Nuff said.

There are some problems with the game which we can not ignore though:
-The saving system are wonky, so if you purchase anything from the store it's recommended to save it with both cloud saving and the account system.
-It's grindy, since it's a clicker.
-The drop rate of partner cards are low as hell.
-Some boss has small attack movements which makes parrying harder.

Overall, I am still enjoying the game. I wish they release the traslated version as soon as possible so more people can enjoy it.

Did some poking around to find the original character design inspirations for our two main heroines.

Senia aka Ygnizem Seniar/Egnigem Cenia is a mob in-game and drops a stat card:

Magaleta aka High Priest Magaleta/Margaretha is a powerful undead boss mob in-game:

Basically in her early life she joined an adventuring party that entered an undead-infeseted tomb/laboratory and she sacrificed her own life to revive everyone else. She was then promoted to High Priestess.

Her card art in the game looks creepy as hell. I kinda wish now that the author of this game had been willing to have Magaleta look more zombie-like when possessed. But I guess that subtlety was the order of the day to convince Senia to go along with things.

Honestly though if the author changed the character designs around, this could be completely disconnected from the Ragnarok Online game. But China is China so meh.

Except the author(s) is(are) not from China. :P

That's why in the sequel changed both main characters' design and costumes, and added complete new characters and story, just try to get rid of RO feel, even the author like the two original characters in RO.

Hm... There's a bunch of fanfics about the Laboratory of Somatology(I've played Ragnarok). They can be very fun(and creepy) to read. I didn't know about the stories of Cenia and Magaletha, though, so thanks!

Thanks for APT but why it's regional restricted.... especially when there is english tranlation. Any good reason for that? I can't give it 5 stars in google store >_<

Ask Google, but the short version is that Google Play generally does regional restrictions for games due to legal issues. China is not friendly for a lot of things so they mandate certain restrictions. The (not so much) Great Chinese Firewall and all that.

Also the developer may be inexperienced and not check the boxes to enable access in all regions (or at least the USA & EU). This may be because of how they set up their in-app purchases.

All that said though, the game can be managed from Google Play once it is installed and not side-loaded.

English translation was added just recently, and they may not know about anything about that.

You can try send e-mail to dev. about this problem, the app page on Google Store has their contact info about regional restricted(I guess they may not know about that).

I don't know or speak Chinese so I can't help in that regard. If someone who is fluent in both English and Chinese can do so then feel free. I'm not certain a Google-translated e-mail will work quite as well as a hand-crafted native speaker.

I was under the impression that the current English translation is a beta translation and they'll give it a worldwide release at a future date

Translation seems fine to me. Perhaps they got a natively bilingual person to go over it.

I was a big fan of the original game.
I say this with all due respect but I feel disappointed the sequel is pretty much nothing of what the original game was.
Will I still try to play it? It’s Eternal Senia, I need closure from the previous ending 3 so hell yeah I’ll give it a shot! Already have a vpn. Question: Did I hear correct that the sequel is for android only? Follow-up question: Can anyone direct me to some titles similar to the original game? I’ve played through just about every Y’s multiple times. I would prefer it on PC/emulator if possible.

Just to be clear: Yes I am bummed out about the change in format. No it won’t deter me from playing it. It’s just an opinion.

I'm also disappointed about the mobile switch. Yes the game is exclusive to the Android and iOS mobile platforms. You can use BlueStacks emulator to play it on PC.
There's many titles similar to the original game, just search for 'RPG Maker' on Steam under tags.
You can also check RPGMaker.net where a ton of them have their own community outside of Steam.

The biggest issue is that $100 fee for completely free games without any RMT or separate purchases. Otherwise I bet almost all of them would already be on Steam.

Legend of Mana. If you haven't played it, do yourself a favor and play (I suggest playing it completely blind for the first time, and using a guide later on). The creator of the game even cited it as one of the game main influences. Two of its main storylines are just the same emotional rollercoaster as Senia.

Yeah, Apple is a piece of trash and their web-based interface doesn't permit me to 'search' their store to find anything at all. Maybe I don't know the quirks of their system but honestly I don't even care at this point lol. BlueStacks is available for both Windows & Mac OSes; you'll have much wider access to mobile apps with it as well. I used ApkPure to grab the game. The name is in Chinese letters and it is somewhere earlier in the thread here.
