It's local co-op only, using multiple gamepads.

Glad I didn't buy it then. I saw the co-op tag and thought it would be great to play with friends but we would only play it online. You really need to take the co-op tag off and only use the local co-op tag.

The documentation on the tags is non-existent, and searching the web there seem to be many different interpretations of the tag. I guess I'll take it away as it's better to be safe than sorry.
