Won't Launch
I get to the point of the game displaying with things like "Play", the control setup, etc., but it isn't going beyond that once I hit the play button. The time I did get past, it took my serial number and never did anything after that.

I understand there are problems with this game currently, or something, but I haven't seen this particular one on the forums yet.

I am having the same crap problem with Batman Asylum, it goes to that stupid play pop-up and once I click on play, nothing. There is nothing wrong with my GFWL cause Batman City, DOW II, and every other games that require it all work. I am running Windows 8. What could be the problem?

no idea, I use windows 8 and it works just fine and dandy. If you tried everything and you got the game on the winter sale, it may be a bad Cd-key like some have claimed.

Iv'e tried all I can to help me fellow gamers, But I just have no more ideas.

I ran it as an administrator from my C Drive/Steam folder, and it worked. I didn't even need to launch GFWL. I have no idea if that helped (I never tried it from the start), but well, that's how I just solved mine.

well running it as an administrator just delay the crash for about 2 sec for me

Dident you guys see what Valve wrote about the cd code and serial number? I cant find my serial number anyone who could tell where?!

When you launch the game, a box should come up with the option to copy something to clipboard. That's the code (or number), I believe. I don't know if there's a difference between CD code and serial number, though.

right click the game under your library, and go to view cd key.

No, what'd they say? Cause it still crashes on me at start up.

He has no idea of what he is talking about. Some of the keys where "bad" during the winter sale. But i'm sure by now they fixed that problem.

Obvious he has no idea of what he is talking about when he can't even find the cd key under steams library.

Had problem like this, but after hitting PLAY it almost instantly gived me error window about game's binaries crash. GFWL worked and was updated. Nothing posted on this forum helped me. Tried reinstalling Windows several times, tried different versions of GPU drivers and anything that can be done about software. Than I abandoned hope to play game.
But than one day my HDD was kinda dying, so I had to buy new one. I had before Samsung 400Gb, bought Seagate 1Tb drive. And gues what? GAME STARTED WORKING!!! I installed exectly the same OS, software and drivers on new HDD. Hope this will help someone

Yeah, I wouldn't throw it out either.

then again tuse an SSD for boot and programs, 2tb for movies, music and recorded DVR stuff, 2tb for backups, and 1 tb wb black for steam and it's games :O Then if problems arrise you can just swap HDD import a clone of your windows on it and wham bam, back to a fresh install.

I miss the $60 2tb Samsung HDD's before the floods raised the prices, I want to buy a few more but not for $130 each now.

(which get's to the point of you can neeever have too many hard-drives if you have the cash and find good cheap prices.)

But yeah, I don't see how a HDD can be at fault anyway, sounds silly.

Hey Sir,
Try not to get to frustrated,..I am in the same boat.I have spent 20 hours between Warner Bros,Microsoft,and now I working with Steam,..I've done a laundry list of program deletes,reloads,reboots,shut downs and lots of time reading on-line,..You are not alone !!
Hopefully a solution will be found soon,..Meanwhile I just play Skyrim and Mass Effect,.
I will admit it is very frustrating.I have never had this problem with any game before,..
