Game does not work on Windows 8.1

I bought this title a couple of days ago and I'm still trying to play it but somehow it does not goes beyond the launcher screen. I'm running Windows 8.1. All I see is a bunch of threads about GFWL closing, etc. But this version I bought is entirely for steamworks so I see no point dealing with GFWL to fix the problem I wonder if I am the only one having this problem.

Click the game to start. When the window opens up click on Settings and disable Multi Sample Anti Aliasing. For whatever reason the game can't read that. Disabling makes the game start.

I have similar issue, even with the Multi Sample Anti Aliasing being disabled.

I'm on Windows 8.1 and have MSAA turned on. My game works, so it must be something else.

I have the solution. I have new install the final AMD card driver and now can play this game. You don't install the beta 13.10! I think this is a problem.

Ok... After fiddling with it for a few minutes, I found that running the launcher in compatibility mode with Windows 7 worked.

Open an explorer window (Win+E) and go to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\Binaries

Right-click on the file BmLauncher.exe and activate the compatibility mode. Then select Windows 7 from the combo menu and it should do the trick (at least for Windows 8.1 it does)

Why people don't read, you need to uninstall the beta drivers & use the WHQL one. the game will work without any crash.
