What's with all the performance issues?
I've got pretty high specs (AMD HD 7970, 8GB RAM, i5 @ 2.8ghz) but the game is running awful.

It only took 5 minutes of trying to play this before it became unbearable. FPS is constantly around 20fps and drops to around 5 while in combat.

I run this game at 60fps constantly but there is a stage where i have a drastic drop fps i dont know why... i think the prob is with AMD Cards.

It's not AMD cards. I have an nvidia GTX 780 and a GTX 670 for physx and I still have frame drops, especially in the second Scarecrow nightmare

You don't have PsysX turned on, do you? If you are, then you need to turn it off.

Edit: I don't know if it will solve all of your performance issues though.

If I turn physx on, I have frame drops. If I turn it off the problem disappears so it's a physx problem. I've read that physx is not well optimized for this game

Here we go again with the AMD bashing. No it's NOT an issue with AMD cards at all.

I have played the entire game normally at max settings, but now every time i initialize the game and play for a few minutes, the FPS constantly drops for a few seconds and then go back to normal, what the ♥♥♥♥? Same problem as you.

I try this:
Restore the system;
Reinstall;
Update the drivers;
Set to LOW settings;
Reinstall Directx.

That didn't work, anyone may have the fix? It's impossible to play with this.

I have same problem here. Geforce GT 650x2, Ram 8, should be enough. I have Acer Aspire v3-771g and it should be more than enough to run this game. I but PhysX down and still lag. I am using Windows 8. Have anyone solved this problem? HELP.

Unfortunately I'm still having issues. I give up with the game.

I'm getting over 100fps with the game maxed out, PhysX on High and 3D Vision enabled.
Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
AMD FX 8350 @ 4.0Ghz
DDR3 16Gb 1600Mhz
EVGA GTX 760 SC Edition

Have you checked the games files to make sure there aren't any missing or corrupt files?
Have you downloaded the latest DirectX?
Have you downloaded the latest version of .Net Framework 3.5?

how about try with the lowest graphic setting and see if it still like that. disable all AA/Physx/3d thingy. then work your way up the setting to see which one trigger the frame drop. its tedious but its one way to know... i was able to get ti 50fps on mostly high setting with my AMD 5670.. btw i dont think physx the issue since i remember it wont let amd user to enable physx.

I had this problem too but it was just my graphics card overheating. Is it possible your fan is not running up to speed?

I've tried turning off AA etc while keeping the textures relatively high to no avail. I don't see why my £300 GPU shouldn't be able to handle it, so I don't see why I should turn down all the graphics for a bad visual experience. Finding what triggers it won't necessarily mean it's fixed. ):

Definitely not.

He said to turn the settings to low and start_working_your_way_up through the settings, turning each up one notch at a time to determine what is causing your lag. The first step to solving *any* problem is knowing what the problem *is*.

You sure can't expect *anyone* to fix the problem for you if you yourself don't know what it is.

The game runs smooth as silk for me with everything maxed (60fps).

Only thing I kept the same was *detail*. Just *tried* it *again* right *now*, detail at low, then medium, and back at high again - did_absolutely_nothing.

Did I throw in enough condescending asterisks and underscores for you?
