Bmgame has stopped working - Batman Arkham Asylum
Well, I've tried a lot of fixes I've found all over the internet, but I still can't play this game.
It crashes when I click "Play", just after the splash screen appears.
Does anybody has a fix to this?

I'm running the game on Windows 8.1 with a ATI 6870 vga and my sound card (onboard) is a Realtek one (that I heard that could be the problem, but I've tried to disable, with no success).

If your refering to the general protection fault. http://imgur.com/Mhq7Mgy I have had the same problem. But fixed it today by going to the nvidia website and getting the latest video drivers then deleted and redownloaded BAA. Deleting and redownloading may have been overdoing it but it worked.

Thank you for trying, but that doesn't really work. I use GeForce Experience which always keeps my drivers up to date and I just manually checked if there was anything new, which wasn't the case.

I've just installed my driver a few days ago... I redownload the game twice and nothing...

Same, I bought all of the batman games on a crazy discount and was looking forward to playing them and I get nothing. It boots the splash, and when I hit play it just... doesn't do anything.

Soon as I press play it crashes like it does for you guys. This is frustrating.

This is what support of WB Games sent me. Hasn't done it for me, but maybe one of you will find this helpful.

1. Reinstall GFWL (http://www.xbox.com/EN-GB/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient). Then go to the following installation directory of the game. Under Win7 64bits should normally be here:

C: -> Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> steamapps -> common -> INSERT NAME GAME -> Binaries -> Win32

For non-Steam versions of the game (bought on disc) go to C:\Program Files(x86)\WB Games\Batman - Arkham City\Binaries\Win32

Delete the file 'xlive.dll' which is visible there.

Try out the game please.

If GFWL menu does not appear, try this:

2. In Windows, go to Start> Control Panel. Open the Software icon> Change or Remove Programs (in WinXP) or Programe and functions (for Vista / 7) Locate the game in the list, click and select 'Repair'. Windows will fix the game, which can take about 20 minutes.

Start the game again.

Hey Chirdesa, thank you dude, it worked... I have a SSD, then I moved the My Documents folder to another drive, but in the root "folder".
I guess this must do the trick for some other guys.

Weird thing I discovered, If you are trying to run it on a laptop. You have to have amouse plugged in for it to work. No idea why, do it fixed the assertion failure for me. It many not help the original poster but hopefully it helps someone else out.

Game folder was in D:\Documents and it still crashes right after the splash screen.
