AMD Radeon Physx

So I just bought this game with the steam sales coming up for the new game. and I loved htis game back in its PS3 days. I Played this game more than anything and I couldnt be happier buying it here on steam. After I downloaded it, when I open the launcher and click play I get the error, "Failed to initialise NVIDIA Physx. Please install the latest NVIDIA PhysX system software. Well, I have a AMD Radeon R9 200 Series Card. That is what is written in Dxdiag. I tried downloading the new driver update it told me to download from Nvidia but as silly as it sounded at first, it didnt work.. It told me that I have an old version and this download is the newer one and I cannot download it. After doing some more research I found out that some people restarted the game it worked out for them, so I tried and nothing happened. I do not know how to turn off the Physx engine as I saw on some threads that said to do that from control panel. I can run the Arkham city but not this game for some reason. I do not know what to do and its bugging me.

me too, i have similar problem, the thing is, i used to install this game few months ago and it runs just fine, but now it has this physx problem....anyone care to give a solution to this problem?

its super annoying and I can run the others but I want to play them in order :(

Well, I don't have an AMD processor, so I can't guarantee this'll help - but here's how you turn off PhysX, at least:

1: Open the launcher.
2: Choose the "Settings" option.
3: Choose the "Display Settings" menu.
4: At the bottom of the menu (above "Reset to defaults" and below "Ambient Occlusion"), there should be an option for "Hardware Accelerated PhysX".
5: The setting has three options: "High", "Normal", and "Off". Click the arrow pointing left once or twice to toggle it to "Off".
6: Click "OK", then see if you can play the game.

Let us know if this helps any, okay?

\Its already on off, and when changed it still doesnt work, so on off and any other option it doesnt work, thanks for the help tho.

Hi everyone

I have the exactly same problem... i just bought the game and i cant play for that reason... im an amd user too with R7 2x series, A6 quadcore procesor and win8,1. I`ve try reinstalling Framework to the last version and reinsltalling video card`s drivers and finally reinstaling game from steam but nothing happen. Btw this the only game with this problem, actually i can play all my games without problems even TheEvilWithin, game with superior requeriments.

Have u tried to install nvidia physX? It doesnt matter if u have an amd or nvidia card. PhysX is the only physic-engine in this game. Everyone has to use it in the normal mode (Hardware Accelerated PhysX = off) like Havoc in other games. But u have to install PhysX without the regular Nvidia graphic driver. http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/physx-9.15.0428-driver-uk.html Try it and install it. Then restart your machine and launch the game again. I hope this will help. Sry for my "not so good" english ;)

install the new PhysX version - http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/physx-9.15.0428-driver-uk.html.

copy the files from the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common" to folder of the game "...Steam\SteamApps\common\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\Binaries"

In manual mode, you must open the file " ...\Steam\Batman Arkham Asylum\BmGame\Config\BmEngine.ini" and replace the default values on PhysXLevel=0 and bPhysXuseGRB=False.

Check that the folder "... Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY \ Binaries" contains file "PhysXExtensions.dll". If not, turn off the anti-virus and reinstall the game or download it ( https://_yadi_.sk/d/Dgi5FOoMgqpx3 - delete "_" from url) and place it in a folder

I`ve try it but nothing happens, still the same problem, and btw when you enter the game, the physx is automatically installed with the latest version of NetFrameWorks... actually ive donwload from link too, as u say, but the problem persist.

uninstall the hole PhysX software and install it again just with this file from my link in my other text above. I had an Amd card half a year ago and i remember i had this issue too with an other game using physX. If u tried it already then im sry. But i dont have more ideas in this moment.

I´ve read this fix in an other forum. This guy had an Nvidia card but maybe it will help u too.

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\nvidia corporation\physx\common\

Copy all of the DLL files and paste them into the "binaries" folder in your Batman:AA folder.
