batman arkham asylum failed to initialize nvidia physx

Alguien sabe como solucionar este problema, lo he intentado casi todo. No se me ocurre nada mas que intentar.

you just have to install the PHYSX driver. Thats all. Download it from NVIDIA site. NVIDIA has payed these game manufacturers to use Physx in this game, so that people would buy NVIDIA cards for seeing the Physx. Very few games have Physx support.

So just install the Physx driver from here:

And this is WINDOWS USERS ONLY: Okay this is what i did to help... if like me you have tried the PhysXLevel = 1... reinstalling physx... reinstalling bm arkham asylum.... reinstalling nvidia cntrl panel and it still doesn't work try this: Go to control panel and specifically uninstall NVIDIA physx... then go to your bm installation folder (usually C:\Steam\steamapps\common\batman arkham asylum goty) and go into the redist folder... install the PhysX_VERSION_SystemSoftware.exe and run bm with or without physx... until nvidia patches the new physx hope this helps y'all. This second option worked for me.

I just uninstalled Physx and steam re installed it now it is fixed for me.

Have the same issue with physx. Running 2 GTX 980s with latest nvidia drivers. What do you guys recommend I try?

This game only works with legacy version of the PhysX software. Anyone running anything newer will not be able to play the game without uninstalling their PhysX (not recommended since you need it for newer games) and then installing the older version supplied by the Steam installer. This would require a patch from the game developers which does not appear to be forthcoming.

You can certainly use the older version provided by Steam with the game, but the latest physx system software contains numerous previous versions and will work with AA just fine, and gets installed with the latest NVIDIA graphics drivers anyway.

Why would there be? the game is 5 freaking years old. It's long since out of active development.

Um, Buck? I have the newest PhysX software. I try to install from the link above and it tells me I have newer versions and cancels. Arkham Asylum still won't run. So clearly it isn't that simple.

This is what worked for me:

1.) Install the latest and most updated PhysX driver.

2.) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common....or wherever your PhysX files are installed on your system. Make sure you go to the "Common" folder within the PhysX folder

3.) Copy all files

4.) Paste all files from the PhysX Common folder into Batman: AA folder where the game executable is located which is here C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\Binaries

The game launched flawlessly and played flawlessly with the beautiful physx effects we all get to enjoy on the PC version :) I only tested it for a few minutes because I wanted to test this solution with other games that utilize an older version of PhysX like GRAW 2 and Cryostasis, both of which I've been waiting to play forever because of bugs with PhysX and hardware limitations I had. Both GRAW 2 and Cryostasis would not work properly if I did not complete this PhysX fix. Now they work better than ever.

By the way, I tried the legacy version of PhysX and uninstalling and reinstalling Physx. Both did not work for me so I tried something else and it worked. Not to say those fixes wouldn't work for some people because they obviously did, but they just didn't work for my specific scenario.

Then you already have the newest version installed, but that doesn't mean it's working correctly.
Have you tried removing/reinstalling it?

This just means physx isnt't installed correctly. Removing/reinstalling it fixes the problem and prevents wasting disk space by needing to leave copies of the DLL's all over the place.
