General Protection Fault, can't find any fix that works.
This is a super long shot because I feel like I've tried every bloody fix under the sun with no luck. The only error I'm getting is this:
General protection fault! History: QA_APPROVED_BUILD_OCTOBER_2008 198408 23-01-2010 21:41.02 FMOD: 42200/42200 Game Address = 0x53ea73 (filename not found) [in E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\Binaries\ShippingPC-BmGame.exe]
And I only discovered this by accident when trying to copy+paste something else, the error was sent straight to my clipboard. Does anyone have any idea what it can't find?

just read the other discussions, turns out you just need to unninstall physX and let the game reinstall it for you. ive tried it and it works.

No dice, one of the many fixes I've tried and has done nothing to fix the issue. I even tried it again just now, just in case. I've tried various versions of Direct X, VC++, compatibility modes, verifying files, reinstalling, checking cloud sync, hell I've even tried "other" versions of the game and it's the exact same issue.

The only thing that's come close to working... is playing on a friend's Steam Deck/Linux. Whatever Proton does with the game makes it work just fine. I can't really do that on my Windows PC however.

Also doesn't work.

Enlisted some help, we went through literally every google result with a "solution" and nothing has worked. There's only TWO other people with my exact error code, and only one of them has the issue with an error NOT popping up like normal, but being sent straight to my clipboard.

The wild thing is, it works absolutely no problem on his Windows machine. At this point it'd be reinstalling Windows to see if it makes any difference, and I kinda don't care enough to do that, I'll just get the console remake I guess.

Same problem on Steam Deck, disabling cloud saves at least made it playable. Now it only pops up every couple of hours, apparently it's some sort of partial corruption of save files having to do with games for windows live not playing nice with anything else again.
