FIXED: Failed To Initialise NVIDIA PhysX

So when I run the game, I get this error message popup - "Failed to initialise NVIDIA PhysX. Please install the latest NVIDIA PhysX system software"

Anyone else have this issue? I've had my gaming rig for 3 years and have installed multiple games and have never had this issue before.

I have a GTX 680. I'm not super knowledgeable about this stuff, so how would I go about doing this? And would installing the latest software potentially effect other games that already worked with previous software?

UPDATE: I've since updated the drivers. I just downloaded GeForce Experience and I selected to install the physx system software. Once it installed, Arkham Asylum was able to run.

Is there any chance that installing these latest drivers would effect older games that worked with previous ones? That's what I'm concerned about. I don't want to make other games not work just because I installed something for this one game.

I highly doubt it will cause any problems.

for older games I use NGlide, but I do know that 353.06 set of drivers was the last set of drivers for older games to work, so I just have a dual boot of windows 7 on the main machine with that installed and updates disabled

Thanks. I looked up the newest driver for GTX 680 and apparently it's 365.19 (linked below). So installing this should make Arkham Asylum work, or do I actually need to install an older one like 353.06?

You should only need to install the PhysX driver update. You can install the 365.19 if you want to, but it won't help with this problem.

Alright thanks. So I went to the the NVIDIA site, all NVIDIA drivers and then went to the section at the bottom that says "NVIDIA PhysX System Software", clicked on that and it took me to this. http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.15.0428-driver.html

So this is what I would need to install? Assuming this is latest.

Yes, like I posted above. Install that.

Im pretty sure this game requires the legacy physx drivers.

Grab them from here - http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.12.1031-legacy-driver.html

Any game that complains about Physx not being installed when you know you have the new version requires that driver.

Game does not require the legacy PhysX system software....

I can enable physx but then I get a dedicated hardware is required message, game runs but the physx aren't working.

what is the "Phys-X Processor" set to use in the nVidia control panel under "Configure surround, Phys-X"?

I don't have Nvidia graphic card, but the game refuse to start (I turn that PhysX off)
