How to Lookup Games for Windows Live CD Key?
Does anyone know how to get their Games for Windows Live CD Key, in 2016, so that they can activate Batman: Arkham Asylum on Steam?

So, here are all my problems so far trying to play this game again:

  1. The XBOX/GFWL website no longer lets you view CD Keys and Purchase info for GFWL purchases.
  2. The GFWL Marketplace application does not work on Windows 10, even when reinstalling in compatibility mode.
  3. I installed Windows 8, in a virtual machine, and got the GFWL Marketplace working.
  4. GFWL Marketplace does not work with Two-Factor Authentication.
  5. GFWL Marketplace does not work with App Passwords.
  6. I ended-up removing Two-Factor Authentication from my Windows Live ID Account completely.
  7. Now I can finally login to the GFWL Marketplace application... but, when I try to look-up my CD Key, I get "There was an error retrieving your purchase history. Please sign-out and try again later.
  8. I have tried signing-out and back-in for the last few days, at random times, same error.

After all this, I still can not get my Batman: Arkham Asylum GFWL CD Key, which I need to activate the game on Steam.

I don't know what else to try. Anyone else gone through this craziness recently and can provide any solutions?

Thank you.

It's a good thing the key didn't worked, since GFWL was dropped from this game, otherwise you'd be stuck with a game that would never save your progress.

From what I have read there're 2 or maybe 1 option. I doubt this will work but try redeeming the key on steam or contact steam support with proof of purchase and request for a key.

I've done this for other games. There is a good chance it might work out for you.

What I ended-up doing is contacting WB Support (http://support.wbgames.com) and then had about a 3 day conversation with them, providing them with my receipt and as much information as I could.

They then finally procured and sent me a Steam Key. I just activated it today.

So, if anyone else is having this same issue with the GFWL only version of Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2016, WB Support may be able to get you a Steam Key, to basically transfer your license over to a better distribution platform that actually functions :)

nice

You Should write out all the steps you took to make it happen then post it for others who may have the same issue.
