Report a translation problem
I saw some posts on steam with the same problem dating from 2013...
Starting over is the only thing that might help. I dont think thats acceptable solution though.
Yeah, it seems like it's something with the save file. I know it sucks, but you're not that far into the game, so it could be worse. Maybe just take a break from it for a while and when you come back to it, start from the beginning.

A. If you're using Windows 10, did you click on your legacy redistributables?

B. As LapTop suggested, did you verify and patch your game?
1. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Updates to Allow Background Downloads.
2. Select game in Library, right-click Properties, then Local Files and Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
C. Did you try forcing DX9?
1. From the Steam desktop client, click Library, Batman Arkham Origins
2. From Batman Arkham Origins, right-click Properties, General, Set Launch Options
3. Copy and paste or type the following, including hyphen: -d3d9
D. If playing on a small monitor is your screen resolution maxed out? If so, reduce it.
Let us know your results.
A. Ran all three, no change.
B. Already did earlier in the week, ran it again today. Both 100%, no change.
C. Tried -d3d9, no change.
D. Tried messing around with resolutions, no change.
Restarted the story and i'm passed that part of the game now.
