Botanical Gardens on 'Hard'
Not looking for help, just needing to vent. I've been playing this game since it came out, and I wanted to mix it up so played on 'Hard' mode for the first time ever. I've muddled my way through so far, only having trouble in cases like the Bane bossfight (blame the goons that wouldn't leave me alone when I was trying to focus on the big guy), until now.
I'm in the botanical gardens, and I've just entered a room with 6 guys carrying guns, wearing alarm collars. This is infuriatingly hard and honestly has put me off ever playing this game on 'Hard' again. Stealthing guys is easy enough, until they can spot you from across the room. There's nowhere to hide when you get shot at, and despite the game's """"helpful"""" hint of 'hide on the gargoyles', by the time Batman drags his bat-ass from the ground to a gargoyle, he's been so slow in doing it he'll be dead by the time he reaches it.
In simple terms, this room needs to be done PERFECTLY. No ♥♥♥♥-ups, no mistakes, no errors. Do it right or don't do it at all.
Which frankly is a great attitude to have towards your players, Rocksteady. Not at all a bastard attitude to have or anything, nah.

I love that room! You can get 6 different unseen predator takedowns on the goons: Silent Takedown, Ledge Takedown, Gadget Over Ledge Takedown (Batclaw pull from distance), Falling Down Knockout (ladders prepped with upgraded Explosive Gel), Inverted Takedown, and either Sonic Shock Takedown or Ground Pound after Batarang. Use the Sonic Batarang to lure thugs into isolated takedowns. Don't detonate the Batarang until the last enemy, as detonated Sonic Shock Batarangs don't start recharging until the next room.

You'll get this. You think you're venting now, wait until an upcoming boss fight in the Gardens.

I finished it not long after making this post in fact, but then I got to the boss fight with the two Titan thugs and, welp, I guess my game had enough because it up and crashed on me as soon as the cutscene finished.

Honestly my solution (and what I find one of the funniest things to do in the game in general) was to use the explosive gel with the proximity upgrade, stealth takedown the lowest-level guy and spray his body with it, then flee as the others flocked to it. Went to the top level, silent takedown a guy there, spray him, then keep moving around, rinse and repeat until they've all been launched into the air.
every predator room in this game is easy because of the batclaw alone.

Even more so when you get the super version

git gud lol, you want to see a hard Arkham challenge? Try Iceberg Lounge in Knight (1 mil points), Joker's Funhouse in City (2 mil points), or whatever the name is of the skeleton challenge in Asylum (Who cares how many points you get)

1. You don't have the ultra-batclaw by that point
2. On Hard difficulty, gun-toting thugs can take you out in less than a second, not to mention that standing around thrusting your grappling-hook at someone's ass is a pretty bad move in that open-plan area
3. I stated I wasn't looking for help, just to vent over how absurdly hard this part of the game was. Your smug little 'git gud scrub lol' attitude is completely unwarranted unless you just felt like being a ♥♥♥♥ for the sake of being a ♥♥♥♥
4. As also stated, I beat it anyway, I just wanted to complain about how ruthlessly difficult that one part is. I've since then basically completed the story and have yet to find anything as hard as that one part, so thanks Johnny-Come-Lately but your comments have no relevance other than, again, making you look like asmug ♥♥♥♥

you still have the normal batclaw, and I didn't say you did. I said it gets even easier w h e n you get the super version.

As can you

Move every single time you KO a dude, it's easy as hell to exploit the AI in this game. Maybe it's because I've played this game for 10 years, but I can knock out every challenge in without a sweat

It's not hard tho

If someone is having problems with stealth sections with armed thugs, I recommed dropping into challenges predator mode. There are medals for taking down enemies with plethora of different moves and it helps to understand what Batman actually can do. For example I had no idea you could kick enemy while travelling on a rope or that in Intensive treatment you could do takedown breaking a glass ceiling. Even dropping down on enemy can stun him. By doing some of the challenges I learned new ways to eliminate enemies it even sometimes feels too easy.

In the end though, you were playing this game on hard. How can you complain that a game is too hard on the highest difficulty setting?

It's more that even on a higher difficulty, one screw-up shouldn't be the end. I hate games that pull that ♥♥♥♥, one mistake and it's all over, even on hard difficulty. At least give me a 'three strikes' system instead of an instant death the minute you stumble into someone.
