Need net. framework 3.5 to start this game, but Windows 10 fails (as it always do) to install it
What should I do now? Was really excited to play this game

You have Arkham City, try that installer or download it from Microsoft:
Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Batman Arkham City GOTY \ Setup \ dotnetfx35

Yes, you have the installer in the Setup folder.

I ran City on Windows 10 just fine. Try navigating to your Arkham Asylum folder under the Steam directory and look for any redists in there. Just run the .net installer again, maybe try running as admin as well?

Whatever the issue was the OP fixed it. He managed to get 13 hours worth of play in yesterday!

Yea, it was my fault, I needed to have automatic updates on Windows 10 and I turned that off and forgot about it lol. And what can I say? This game is awesome!

Indeed it is and once I figure out what's tanking my frame rate I too will be re-enjoying this game. I have no idea what two of these options are.......ambient occlusion? Spherical harmonic lighting?

I suspect ambient occlusion is the way light hits and/or is affected by objects but I'm not sure.

I'll sort it once I conquer my terrible Blood Bowl addiction, I bet it's motion blur, it's always motion blur.

motion blur is generally the least useful

wikipedia /Ambient_occlusion
has a good explanation what AO does

spherical harmonic lighting sounds like bloom-based to me,
i usually disable stuff first that smells like:
- bloom
- vignette
- dithering
- any sim of CRT (makes screen look like old cathode TVs)
when i get performance hits

you had automatic updates turned off on win10? that version of windows doesnt even have that option as far as i know, i know i recently upgraded from Home to Pro and all i can do is "defer feature updates" which i do, in order to NOT get "creators update" because, well, its a microsoft feature update, which autoincludes ruining games

Stupid updates from Windows 10 corrupts my computer! I mean, if you refuse to update when there are new ones, then your computer will become super slow and act wierd or even crash until you let Microsoft update your PC. Maybe they're doing that to force the NSA to spy on us and steal our private information.

Yes, that creator's update was a real FU from MS to their customer base. It even rather helpfully overwrote some of my lovely drivers with default MS ones.

Sadly I have Home Edition so no deference for me.

Oh and it took 4 1/2 hours to even update the damn thing in the first place.

At least most of my game collection still works, due to being between decent desktops I have to play old games anyway for now.

MS wonder why people told them to clear off and hung onto Win 7.
