1) Do not let RNG tempt you. It is 160 Pull for one character, solid. Anything else beside that is based on luck, you shouldn't depend on luck.

2) Spending small amount for monthly sub is a good idea, or go F2P is also a good option. Because paying a lot would still not get you anywhere. You still have to grind regardless.
You should rather pay for skin.

3) Plan your resources correctly. Know which character you “want to play the most” and would “mainly” be playing. Doing that would not let you fall prey to FOMO.

It would also help you mainly focus on building them, so you have a solid team for every fight.

4) All Character are never limited. They will come back, the question is when, Could take up to 6 months for one to return or 2 months.

5) Astrite is the most valuable resource and the only thing that matter. Only use them to get the Character you love to play, could get them a weapon too.

6) Remember to trade your coral (you gain coral when you pull for characters, you can trade them for more pull at the store for free)

7) Play the game and do the event. Then chill and wait for new patch and content to arrive. Basically grind, the game revolve around that.

P.S: For your free 5 Star. Just get Verina. Just do it.

1) Like Paper said, astrite is valuable. You should only really use it on limited banners. Do the events, hoard your astrite like it's gold. We often get character drip markets a month before they drop and a whole guide on materials as well a week before iirc.
2) Build 1 to 2 characters at a time, don't spread yourself thin.
3) Go at your own pace, burnout is your worst enemy in games like this.
4) Don't forget the weekly events, and use up all your waveplates before the day ends.
5) Long-term goals are to have three teams for Tower of Adversity, but you can ignore this if you don't want to clear the floors completely each patch.
6) Having said that, have fun! Follow the meta if you want to, but it's not the end all be all of players.
7) If you want, you can get a lunite subscription that gives 90 astrite for 30 days. That's 2700 astrite which is an incredibly good deal, you just have to wait for 30 days.
8) Currently, since you're starting out, I recommend doing this:
- Finish the main story, I know the voice acting kinda sucks (Eng), but I promise you it gets a lot better after the first main story.
- Get to Union Level 40 and Data Bank 20 and begin to farm for echoes, which helps boost your character damage. You level up your Data Bank by absorbing Echoes, Echoes you haven't absorbed before grand you more EXP for it.
- For 5 stars, I recommend Verina -> Encore -> Calcharo -> Jianxin. Lingyang is fun, but hard to learn how to play, especially as a beginner.

I think that's everything!

Solid advice in the entire post, but minor correction here. The database level only increases for new echoes/higher echo ranks. The database level determines which ranks of echoes you can obtain, and this affects all types of echo acquisition. There isn't a ton of merit in doing tacet chords when you aren't guaranteed a 5* echo for every roll for example. Going through the story fast will let you gain a ton of database levels just from registering the new echoes for each region, though certain database levels are unfortunately limited by your union level as well. To get 100% drop chance on 5* echoes you need to be at least Union Level 40, capping out at a 50/50 chance with 4* echoes before that.

What I mainly want to say, don't over-invest into 3* or 4* echoes. For your core team, pumping ones with decent main stats up to level 10 or 15 can put you into a more comfortable stat range for certain bosses, but those echoes are going to be replaced entirely, and the game's main progression difficulty is made with a very casual audience in mind.

Don't fall for the FOMO effect when a limited time character banner releases. And for the love of god, don't start calling this game Gathering Wives like other degenerate gooners.

+1 on the free Verina train. She's a solid healer, and the other healers are super-rare to get. Big sanity protection.

Do not get addicted to character pulls. Gatcha games are deliberately designed to tickle the parts of your brain that get addicted to Gambling, and come with all the tar-pit suffering that comes with it.

Keep creating Accounts until you roll Zani before hitting 80 pulls.

You are a 1 year behind, so you missed out on 100's of free pulls. So it's essential that you have a good start with one Limited character.

Every pull counts for you.
i'm not currently pressed enough for this lol
thank you everyone! i will hoard the premo currency and pick up the sub:) aslong as i can do all the content im cool with whatever.
