Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves

still no 120fps
so they updated the 120fps requirements for the GPU side, but didnt touch the CPU side

why? guess i have to wait another few more months for the CPU side to be updated >.>

you need proper 8 core cpu for 120fps but theres config bypass tutorial on internet
gpu only restriction is for ray tracing option
but yeah its annoying that they lock the option its been like that for ages thankfully i upgraded my cpu recently

it's such a weird requirement, there's an fps unlocker on github though

I have the option
i stuck at 60 :(
the reason the requirement is there is this game is CPU heavy at higher fps, it will cause sutters and ♥♥♥♥.

I have a 7600X which isn't on the allowed list. I use the unlocker. At 4K with every setting cranked I average 90-110 FPS, and at that I'm GPU limited. The 7600X is barely working. And even IF the CPU was a problem. Give people the option to try it. That's the whole point of PC gaming. I have never seen a game lock framerate behind specific hardware.

i agree, PC is good because it allows everyone to have the options no matter what hardware they have, the mod to unlock it works pretty well at least, they also locked ray tracing behind 40+ series cards, which is a weird thing to do, theres a mod to enable it on 30 series cards and it works perfectly lol.

edit: its also a bit funny that i have a 5800x and the fps limitation isnt imposed on me, and then 7600x is actually better in most games lol, but i guess they didnt test all of them and just went by core count.

its incredibly stupid, as one guy pointed out, this is also the very first time i've seen a game locking framerate behind HARDWARE, and the game isnt even that intensive on most computers unlike games like RDR2 or CP2077

if they arent able to accomodate for all hardware, it means one thing -> their game's optimization is still ♥♥♥♥, meaning that they rushed out this feature without properly fine tuning it for the platform itself

i hate it, it sucks to have to wait more months for it to be optimized properly, and i can do nothing other than wait <insert devs listened meme here>

ps. btw to that guy who posted the fps unlocker, many thanks
Try Lossless Scaling, it's cheap and works with basically any game.

120FPS is a strange option in Wuwa. With my 5800X3D + 6800XT it was available. Then I switched to the 9070XT and the option is gone. Not sure what Kuro did here...
if you want a weird "hack" if you have a rtx 40 series card and don't like framegen or ray tracing, if you open the game in directx11 mode and enable framegen, the game will unlock the fps but not use frame gen lol, so you can get like 200 fps in the tower and whimpering wastes, it can get a bit spotty when in the open world, without framegen and it still works fine, so the 120 fps also doesn't make much sense.

thats just a stupid requirment I even suggested it still no changes.

black ops 3 is probably the only game i knew that locked graphics settings behind hardware after an update cuz people kept complaining that game ran ass while using "extra" ps4 texture settings on 2gb vram card etc

For Wuthering Waves i played at launch, it ran actual ass on my i7 8700k + 3080 ti while shuttering all over the place unless i use DLSS performance mode etc. I dont think it was even able to fully hold fps 60 iirc

So I can see why dev implemented hardware lock but bruh, just add warning message like last of us pc port did where you gonna experience may not be optimal due to hardware instead of making us go jump through loops

to be fair i am somehow CPU limited in this game, i do get over 100 fps on average (using the fps unlocker linked above) in this game with an R5 7500f and an RX 6700 XT on ultra, the CPU is maxed out all the time while the GPU fluctuates around 50-90% usage, so yeah i guess it kinda fine, until the usual UE stutter kicks in (especially in Rinascita open world) and kinda makes it very annoying at times, although it is weird to lock the FPS limit to certain CPUs, just let the player decide which setting to use
