Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves

How much of a time sink is this game?
Looks great and I've heard good things. Definitely don't mind trying it but if it's a HUGE time sink or you will never accomplish anything, I may as well skip it.

As much or as little of a time sink as a comparable title. Pretty sure Witcher III is longer, for now.

It is somewhat better compared to other gacha games in the market, but at the end of a day it's a gacha game nevertheless.
So it does require a solid amount of time to level your account and characters up.

Since it's a gacha game, it strongly encourages you to log in every day. However, you only really need to be on for 15 minutes a day to get the daily rewards, and that's assuming you struggle with completing your dailies a little. As a completely new player, you will have a lot of permanent content to catch up on though in order to access the most recent limited content, so I can see that being a turn-off for players without a lot of time. I would recommend you just try it yourself to find out, because gacha gamers are used to sinking in a lot of time lol.
It is a time sink
Thanks for the replies. I may give it a shot. Looks really good. I'll see if the gameplay hooks me.

One gacha game had me hooked for 4 years.

So yeah, this one will be as well.

Not playing is actualy rewarding in this game , I downloaded it months ago and played it a bunch , then i stopped but i login every day just to collect the overflow waveplates :) In other words i got over 2000 energy now and can insta max out a char if i feel like it (it stacks , so far i dont see a cap)

The main story up to current patch is easily 40-50 hours. Then there's character story which is 2-3 hours each. Then there's an open world where there's actually stuff to explore. If you're into hardcore combat, there's a little mode called hologram where you fight boss but on steroid where it can 1-2 tap you at max gear.
Daily took like 5 minutes btw

You spend inordinate amounts of gameplay time grinding mats and monster substats just to build a character. Also, you will always run out of something and need to go fetch it.

It's a huge time sink.
