I've a I7, 16 GB ram, and a GTX460, should be more than enough to run it. Yet still crashing.
Maybe I have found the issue right now with the crashes to desktop. The game will destroy your savegame after a short time. When you delete the savegame from the 35150 folder the game will still load the broken savegame from the cloud which you can not delete. But you can delete the savegame in the 35150 folder start steam in offline mode and you can start a new game.
In the first chapter you will fight against a boss after that the game destroy again the savegame.
Maybe this will only affect the first chapter I dont now. Try to google a full savegame with all chapters or spam the developers for this crap (sh!tstorm).

I have tried the fix and savegames from the side. My game still crash.
So at the moment I have no solution for this issue. I think the best solution is to delete this game ^^.
I have tried the repair option on steam for the game and now it works, but i don´t know how long. ;)
Maybe you can check if you have all the Visual C++ Redistrubutable Packages (http://getintopc.com/softwares/utilities/visual-c-plus-plus-redistributable-packages-free-download/ you can also download from microsoft directly)/ Direct X installed.
