最早接觸這個是在很久以前的一個論壇遊戲區(久到我忘記名字)
當然兩者之間有無關聯我並不清楚
但是當初的那款遊戲的遊戲豐富度並沒有這麼高

後來在HM月包開出來
頓時覺得懷念阿...
目前此款遊戲入過兩次包

介面介紹

右方的紅色方塊代表你可以攜帶的道具數量，基本一個，最多四個
右下角的紅色方塊代表你在此回合獲得的硬幣數量
上方紅色方塊代表你目前達到的最高高度

操作：僅需方向鍵，非常簡單
目標：往上 往上 再往上 追求極限吧

每一關過程中，你可以蒐集到硬幣
硬幣可以在商店購買道具或寵物，也可以存進銀行
需要注意的是，每場獲得的硬幣若沒有在遊戲中存入銀行，是會消失的

遊戲的方式很簡單
避免落下的磚塊砸死你
避免碰觸到逐漸從下方升起的岩漿/風暴/電磁波
如果多次在方塊落地前跳到方塊上，多次累積可以額外獲得錢幣加成
但是也會有一隻綠色方塊怪物發射子彈干擾你

遊戲中可以獲得各種道具提升能力，被攻擊後會損失一樣道具
護盾道具可以抵擋兩次攻擊，其他道具則一被攻擊就會掉
右方的紅色方塊數量決定了你目前可以攜帶的道具上限
建議在知道各種道具的功能後，獲取道具也要挑
不擅長的道具能避則避，否則只會讓你的死期提早到來
另外，在不干擾自己的情形下，能讓自己帶滿道具是最好的(避免一碰到就死)
每到一個階段都會出現王
打敗魔法師後，約每300ft會出現雙BOSS (有可能同一隻X2 也可能不同隻)

寶箱介紹
咖啡色寶箱：關卡中隨機出現，內涵錢幣或道具
藍色寶箱：挑戰BOSS勝利後出現，內含一隻寵物
紅色寶箱：挑戰BOSS勝利後出現，內含一個道具方塊格

寵物介紹
寵物能為主角提升能力，最多可升級三次
Extra Life：綠色蘑菇，可在死亡後馬上復活(道具會清空)
Speedster：紅色刈包，可永久提升移動速度(只限該場遊戲)
Whirly：紫色種子，可以永久提升跳躍能力
Hopster：黃色蝸牛，少量增加跳躍能力與移動速度

暴怒型態：發射兩枚火球，踩三下
攻略方式：召喚出來的怪物要清掉，否則雷雲的子彈容易碰到，道具帶滿抵檔攻擊


商店系統

遊戲結束後，可以到客製化商店中消費你賺到的錢幣
可以購買包含遊戲中的寵物、開場道具、通行證等
白色區域：你擁有的商品
綠色區域：用於裝備關卡中使用的開場道具
黃色區域：用於裝備通行證(想購買高階需有低階通行證)
藍色區域：角色的裝飾區，可以打造屬於你自己的獨特角色
紅色區域：可購買的商品

任務系統
在關卡中，偶爾可以見到地圖狀的任務道具
在開場前可以自動加入三個任務
橘色的任務可以分多場遊戲完成
紫色的任務則限定一場遊戲，失敗就會消失
任務完成後可以獲得經驗值與錢幣
經驗值可以提升角色等級(可獲得等級相應道具)

整個遊戲就是不斷的往上跳，有點類似小朋友上樓
不過每跳到某一高度就會出現王

不斷掉下來的磚塊也會掉落一些有趣的道具、跟怪物
雙人單機玩也很有趣

但個人覺得不夠耐玩，雖然有等級系統但沒有目標性
仍然推薦，但建議入包再入手吧

2D平台動作遊戲
在大魔王魔法攻擊下，天上不斷掉下方塊
你的目標很簡單，就是不斷的~~~~~~~往上跳！往上爬！往上飛！
一邊躲避路上的敵人，以及會壓死你的方塊
路上能夠買到或撿到增強行動力的道具，但能身上帶的有限~請謹慎挑選

優點：
像個忍者飛來飛去很爽
跳、跳、衝刺、飛
單機合作X 單機你快點上來啦我看不到路O

缺點：
高樓層超hardcore的情況下，按鍵有時候沒反應或遲鈍這缺點有點致命

有點LAG
不過還是很好玩

I was a big fan of the original Avalanche flash game many many years ago, but as time went on and flash games went out of style, I forgot about the game entirely. Then when browsing steam, I all of a sudden came across its sequel, not knowing anything about it, and decided to try it on a whim.

This game is the definition of a perfect sequel. The core gameplay from the original game which made it fun is still the focal point, just improved, and every gripe I had with the first game has been fixed. The gameplay, which consists of going as high as possible, is addictive with missions and items keeping it fresh and interesting, even after the amount of time I've already spent on the game. You can tell there was a large focus on making the gameplay feel smooth. The controls feel very similar to the way super meatboy feels, which is to say good. The graphics and music compliment the game quite well, both being very well made and a pleasure to see/hear, and overall the presentation is great, with intuitive menus and nothing to bog you down between games.

Some people may argue on the price point, which is a fair point to argue given the amount of breathtaking games on steam available for the same price, but as the guy's first game on steam I could see where he is coming from. I really enjoy it, so if you don't mind the price, or the game is on sale, I'd definitely recommend trying it out.

This is a climbing platformer game, where the goal is to avoid enemies and being crushed by falling blocks, which also serve as the developing tower you need to keep scaling. Since you do get gold and experience from scaling higher up, beating bosses, and completing missions, with death happening frequently, it's also a rogue-lite game. With the way it looks and your objective in the game, it wouldn't seem that way at first, but cute graphics can be misleading. Despite going against stereotypes, it's actually a pretty well-done rogue-lite, especially since dying isn't overly punishing.


• Part of what makes this game playing like a rogue-lite odd is the aesthetics compared to the standard medieval/fantasy world style. The colors and graphics are vibrant and crisp, the enemies aren't as monstrous as they could be (dragons are short, squat tubbies), and the two main characters are marshmallows. Add in the upbeat, perky music, and it really sets the tone of a happy-go-lucky game, as opposed to one where you die numerous times.
• The screen wraps-around from left to right and vice-versa, so if you're stuck on the edge of one side of the screen, there may be a clear route on the other side. This helps keep the player's choices open, and doesn't punish someone from accidentally getting too far to one side, which previous obstacles may have forced you into doing to survive. Enemies aren't given this same ability, or are programmed not to use it anyways.
• Blocks can be destroyed from underneath by jumping against the base enough times, which is another simple feature keeping you from being totally trapped and screwed. It takes a few hits to break blocks this way, which prevent blocks from being destroyed on accident. Although it can be useful, in general the preferred strategy is to keep jumping on top.
• Although I don't really get the point myself, there are numerous optional decorations that can be tacked onto the marshmallow you're playing as. Maybe if it wasn't in competition with the gold I need to buy useful upgrades, I would see the appeal more.
• The bosses are designed well, as there's enough to them they're more than just an enemy with three HP, but they aren't too time-consuming or difficult either. With proper manipulation and risk-taking, you can get back-to-back hits on them.
• The shop sells checkpoints so you can start higher up instead of having to climb from the very bottom, though it does impact your score. It's certainly well worth it though, and new ones come in the further you get.
• If you aren't particularly picky about what mission to try out next (or you don't have enough to choose from), you can have the game randomly pick for you.
• The various items you find have the added bonus of giving you an additional hit. I will mention that being crushed is an auto-kill, which to be fair, it should be.


• It's not uncommon for different goodies like money or treasure chests to drop down in a place you can reach, but for there to be a second block falling down almost immediately afterwards to crush it. I suppose this reinforces the risk vs. reward aspect so you don't get too greedy, but when you have no chance at getting it, it's just annoying. After all, sometimes a very valuable item gets in a place where it's totally safe and you can get it at your leisure, but some coins get immediately destroyed (or, more painfully, vice versa).
• I think the screen should be slightly adjusted so you can see further up than you do now, because that would give you more opportunity to see what's coming and respond to it. Sometimes you get stuck in a pinch and don't have enough reaction time, with jumping up to scout ahead not really helping much.
• I find myself most often dying to enemies or getting crushed, as opposed to the rising death pit catching up to me. I'd say it'd almost be unnecessary, but having too much time to lollygag would probably hamper the challenge. Plus, the tide's speed can be increased, so that need not always apply.
• I do find it weird how the main game mode is called endless, as if there's another mode available to play. After all, there'd normally be a story or arcade mode, with endless being an optional mode to try out to see how far you can get. Just an oddity more than anything.
• Maybe I just haven't gotten used to it, but it seems like there are too many menu screens. All I'm trying to do is buy some items in the shop, choose my missions, and give it another try, but the process seems bogged down as I switch from one to the next.
• Some of the items feel more like a hindrance, such as the pogo stick and rabbit ears, as I'll get stuck bouncing, when I just want to jump normally.


The exterior of this game was somewhat of a turn-off to me for whatever reason. Something about how it looked made me think it wouldn't appeal to me, when it's actually a game I rather like. Knowing that my character develops and gets better items to make successive tries more manageable is motivating, as well as the bosses to vanquish at certain height thresholds. Playing with a controller is certainly recommended, as I found it hard to get him to move exactly as I wanted with just the arrow keys, but I think that's as much my preference as it is a reflection of the controls. Seeing as there's more to it than a normal arcade game with attempts made to beat an arbitrary high-score, I'd recommend this for those who like platforming games.

I am of course biased, but let me talk about some of the things I personally like about this game.
The core gameplay of Avalanche is still here, blocks fall and you climb as high as you can. Added in are enemies and different blocks that behave in various ways based on where you are in the world. There's also a huge arsenal of powerups you can grab that will change the way you climb. This is one of those games that feels brutal at first, but when you stick with it and beat that first boss, you suddenly start to feel your progress really kick in and you're richly rewarded with new sights all the way up.

Visually entertaining, highly challenging. I've seen a lot of people really enjoy just watching others play this game as all sorts of crazy things can happen.

Avalanche 2 is a roguelike platformer where you try to get as high as you can by climbing falling (Tetris) blocks. There's only one big level splitted into segments and most of the fun comes from the smartphone game style of quests - you always get three random tasks with a small reward. Those tasks are about collecting coins, climbing, "surfing" (climbing on blocks that haven't fallen on ground yet) etc. Also, there's a in-game shop where you can buy hats, upgrades and level segment skips (you don't have to start always from bottom).

- Entertaining gameplay, offering hours of addictive fun for fans of roguelike genre.
- Powerups will test your skill since some of those aren't just pure stat boosts, they may also change your controls (ex. bunny hop powerup).
- Co-op mode.
- Nice graphics style.

- Some bosses are too easy.

- You might get bored fast if you don't like repeating the same level over and over.

Avalanche is a really fun casual game with that addictive "one more go" flavour. The aim is simply to get your little "marshmellow" ever higher. You do this by scaling "wall" jumping, jet-packing, etc. off of falling blocks. After every step climb you will face a "boss". Enemies are vanquished by jumping on their heads as are the bosses. Snakes, birds, dragons, octopuss(what is the plural of octopuss? Octopie? Octo♥♥♥♥♥s? OO ) block your path. The rising lava from below pushes you ever upwards least you be burnt alive.

You also get a large number of power-ups, open new power-up slots to carry more than one ability and gather coins to spend on bonuses, challenges, and cosmetic items. These add to the replay value.

This is ultimately a casual game but proves addictive and gives a real sense of achievement the higher you get. The bragging rights of a high score or a pimped out "marshmellow" are where it is at.

I recommend this if you are looking for an addictive quick blast of fun that you can play between bouts of more intensive gaming. This is also a game that the whole family can play and challenge one another for the highest score.

Last but not least I love the sound the rising lava makes.

Avalanche 2: Super Avalanche is such a treat. I got this in a Humble Monthly, and have no idea why it is not more popular. I had no expectations going in. If you love some great platforming action with a fairly simple rule set, yet tons of awesome meta-game upgrades: this game is a must-have. Controller support makes this sooo much fun to play from the couch.

Essentially, this is a tower-climb game. Blocks fall, and you make your way as high as you can go. There are powerups, and various enemies. There are banks where you can 'store' your money to spend on meta-game items (if you die, you lose it). There are shops along the way too. Oh! And there are quests that you can choose to do in between runs!

Pros:
+Very addicting. The core game is quite simple in premise, but definately expertly implemented.
+Great meta-game progression on this one (which I always like).
+Cute music, graphics, and sound that really fit.

Cons:
-You have to be into tower-climb games. Thats all I can think of. Comment more 'cons' in the comments, and I will rethink things.

Totally worth ten bucks. Really fun game.
