Your best chance at this point is watching a youtube playthrough. From what I understand it is a pure "upgrade my stuff to gain access to more supplies which I need to further upgrade my stuff" kind of game, although to what end I don't know. I started watching a playthrough from "00 CRITICAL" and I found the game enjoyable.

I'm probably missing some things, but taking it as a basic survival game (like Minecraft), you should start out like this...

1. Chop down trees to collect timber (Taller and greener trees give more timber, shorter and dead trees give twigs)

2. Harvest reed patches and bird nests for straw

3. Harvest any blocky stone piles for building stones

4. Upgrade your main house, build a fence, build a watchtower

5. Harvest plants and hunt sheep

6. Upgrade/build the Sawmill and Kitchen

7. Open your safe and equip the armor and sword

8. Build Chicken coop and sheepfold (you can easily just harvest plants and hunt aimals, so don't waste a building on the farm)

9. Trap chickens and sheep to fill up your coop and fold respectively

10. venture into your mine and collect coal/iron to continue upgrading

11. Get killed by the giant bear in your mines

I wish I knew if leaving pine cones and acorns make trees spawn faster...

See, I always build the garden for one. I then look/harvest the honey pumpkins looking for honey pumpkin seeds. You then start getting honey pumpkins that can be easily cooked. You get (3) honey pumpkin seeds kicking out honey pumpkins and you have no worries for food.

That's exactly what I've done so far in the game and now I can't progress anymore because of that bear. Thinking about ditching this one, too bad I've played it over two hours so I won't be able to get a refund. The game has potential though, but there are too many issues for it to be an enjoyable experience (for me at least).
