game doesn't go to fullscreen

The game window just minimizes and I can't return to the game.

Hi there. Sorry to hear you are having that problem. So does this occur when you click full screen on the options page? It works on almost all PCs/Macs but can have issues on a few unusual setups.

Can you please tell me more about your system e.g. PC or Mac. Laptop or Desktop. OS version. How many screens you have. What video card you have (some laptops have two and this can cause problems). DirectX version and anything else you feel is relevant. This is just for our records so we know more about incompatible systems.

If you don't want to play in windowed mode then it's not a problem if you want to refund it.

It's possible in the future we may add borderless windowed mode which would basically look like full screen but works in a different way that is more compatible with some systems.

Yes. I have PC Laptop, Windows 10 Home. I have one screen and one nvidia geforce gtx video card.

OK thanks for letting me know. There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about that setup, though some laptops have two video cards such as an onboard Intel one and a geforce and that can confuse the full screen code. Sorry again about the issue.

i have the same problem. Everytime i click fullscreen the game freeze. Win Home 10. One screen and one video card.

try starting the game whilst in steam library.to get vgame to run. than go into game option and click on full screen. I had to do that first couple of times on win 10 home. now game runs no problem on full screen no freeze and will run from desk top without opening steam first

@Terry.o Thanks for letting us know that. What do you think is making it work that way because honestly I've no idea? (well it should work in the first place, and it does on 99% of PCs, just not on a rare few and we don't know why.)

I play in 4k on ultra wide 3840 x 1600 with no problems, just for info

On my laptop I had to manually change ini file, set fullscreen and borderless to 1 and the game run fullscreen. But 99,9% of my games doesn't have a problem to work fullscreen from the game's settings menu. Finally I decided to refund, I don't like forced 4:3 proportions and pictures on numbered cards. There are better solitaires on steam already.

Try going to this folder:
C:\Users\*yourname*\Documents\Grey Alien Games\Regency Solitaire
Open RegencySolitaire.ini
Change BORDERLESS WINDOW=1
Save the ini file.
launch the game.

Hi Devs, just wanted to say I was having a similar issue with the game launching in windowed mode by default, then freezing my OS when I tried to switch to fullscreen (windows 10 running on a geforce rtx 2080) and I will try your solution. It's rare for devs to be so responsive about issues like this, so I applaud you for that.

Hi all, just got the triple pack and had the same issue on Win11 recently self upgraded home build. When I first load the game it says it didn't shut down correctly?
I tried full screen, froze the PC and despite not being able to task manager shut down I did manage to log out and back in to PC.
Set Borderless to 1 as per your guide and again it comes up with warning and goes to small windowed. Again crashes on change to full screen.

Then realised as it had crashed the game resets the borderless=1 to =0.

So if you get the same just change to =1
Load game into small windowed, Quit game.
Change to borderless=1 again, save and reload. It then loads in large borderless.

Off to play my first game.
