controls for home arcade?
i cant get the conrols to work for my arcade. It will not let me map the controls. Has anyone else tried to play on a home arcade or with a generic controller?

Does the game recognize your controller at all? I have tried multiple controllers and sticks before and they were recognized. Do you use a keyboard to navigate on your arcade cab? Maybe you need to switch to a different controller in the key bindings option. There are multiple listed, even the keyboard.

When I hit enter on my keyboard to map the buttons it automatically changes it to axis 4.

What profile is selected when you try to define the keys? I am using a xbox360 type controller. Have you tried changing the profile to the generic (I believe its called something like that) controller?

Hate to dig up an old discussion, but my arcade control panel uses keyboard emulation. I have 4 joysticks with 8 buttons each. For some reason, it will only let me bind one player to a keyboard. Anybody have a workaround that will allow me to bind all 4 players to a keyboard?

...maybe you can toy around with joy to key and somehow mimic other devices for the pc?

I think in your case you need to emulate XInput or DirectInput controllers with some software. We did not allow more than one player per keyboard because a keyboard is too limited in the number of keys it can detect at the same time.

Hi,

I too wanted to use keyboard controls for my arcade cabinet and don't want to rely on other software to make it work. Would it be too much trouble for developers to allow the use of keyboard for all 4 players? I use a ipac controller that allows multiple keys to be detected at the same time so I shouldn't have this issue like my other arcade games for 4 player coop.

If my avatar doesn't give it away, I'm also interested in 2-player keyboard configuration for my arcade cabinet. HakkChu, or joshua, have you guys come up with a solution? (or Devs?)

Those of you looking for multiple player keyboard input on your arcade machine -- Keyboard2Xinput is your best bet if you can't toggle your interface to xinput directly (like an ipac can). The issue with ipac, and it may not apply here, is that an ipac4 will only do 2-players at xinput. K2X is relatively easy to set up and has been rock solid for me for about 6 months of use.

Regarding the developers laziness on the matter; it could be something with the engine, or it could just really not be worth their time for a $10 game from years ago. Look at every DotEmu game -- they're practically built for arcade machines and they also limit keyboard to player 1.
