I don't know either, if anyone knows, please do us the kindness of sharing.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins?
I think origins will be the most close to this game

Origins is nothing like this game. Origins is a single character, with a smattering of useless bodyguards who only serve to have the occassional ability trigger. IT's all you in DW.

In hindside, Origins ended up to be closer to this game than I expected. It's have soldiers, it's have tactics. Only until New Game Plus you can't really have any considerable number of troops and most tactics take way too long to being ready.

But really, Bladestorm is a continuation of the Kessen series.
The closest game I can think being Total War: Arena (RIP Total War Arena), Mount & Blade series and it's many clones.

what about kingdom under fire, you control squads etc but also get to do in person fighting, but not to the extent of dynasty warriors being super op, graphics are still dodgy but its in a similar vein

Its got the same outdated look problem though I love the concept from both games I just want something similar in this century you know with the updated ai and graphics but totally kingdom under fire was what lead me to this game haha

Something new (althought inspired by other direction, Rise and Fall of Civilizations and stuff).

Looks like it's over 20 years old thought.

Agree. Bladestorm is pretty unique (not very many games that are actually similar).

Going to check out Eyes of War, and Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War.
