How is Koei Tecmo so terrible at this?
Why is Koei Tecmo such a horrible company at PC ports?

wow ... I din't even noticed that Koei and tecmo merged together ... lol.
Are they incompetent? Is Koei Tecmo deliberately trying to sabotage their own reception and sales? Is Koei Tecmo of America secretly plotting? What's going on here? This launch is a whole new level of ineptitude from Koei Tecmo.
well , the system's requirement not mentioning any graphics cards models is not very professional's I must admit , any decent AAA devlopers would have done their stress test way before the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game release and knew what kind of graphics cards their game need.

Because they're a relatively small-ish Japanese company with next to no experience creating PC ports. Prior to Dynasty Warrior 8, the Omega Force team hadn't made a single PC port ever. They're not AAA in the slightest.

So are they incompetent? Yes, from lack of experience. That's just the reality of it, Hopefully they'll slowly patch this game into a stable state, like they did with Dynasty Warriors 8.

Edit: Btw, Koei Tecmo of #insertcountry are all just office branches. All they do is handle announcements and the red-tape involved with publishing.

All of their actual development staff and studios are in Japan.

Actually Dynasty Warriors 4 and 6 were ported to PC in the west and DW7 was ported to PC in asia.

I stand corrected, but DW6 was released 7 years ago. That's a long time to be out of the loop.

Yeah, if you don't count the asian DW7 port. But Bladestorm seems to be by far the most screwed up Koei port so far. But when the patches start rolling in, the situation will improve, hopefully.
I'm assuming that up-rezzing and updating an old game that was originally for the last gen consoles over to the current gen while simultaneously creating a PC port presented its own set of challenges that they weren't prepared to deal with.

But yeah, here's hoping that they're able to iron out the kinks.

That might be. For now the PS4 version seems to be the better of the two. After patches, who knows...

They've never done a good job with a single port. With this one, people have reported the game launching in Japanese, having to set it to Windows 7 Compatibility to prevent it from crashing 20 seconds into War of the Roses, once again controller support lacks proper feedback, it only has Anti-Aliasing on or off.

And seriously, let's just talk about graphics options for a moment. It doesn't take years of experience to find out what industry standards are, it takes like a five minutes in google. There's literally no excuse for a lack of FOV sliders for instance in a game like this, none, it takes no virtually no additional effort on the part of the developers to include basic options like that. It's like they're trying to deliberately sabotage reception of their game or something, either they're incredibly inept, or they just don't care.

Well, they have the console versions to fall back on, they always work well. Koei porting these games seems to be more of a test than a serious attempt at the PC market. Japan is the land of the consoles after all.
You're asking for an FOV slider in a third-person-action-RTS game?

The same old stiff Japanese gaming industry as we know it.

Unless the camera is locked at an isometric angle, yes, field of view is important, and further, there's no reason not to include adjustable sliders for this.

Maybe if I played it I'd like to turn down Field of View to improve performance, maybe I wouldn't see it as all that relevant if I tended to view everything from an isometric angle.
That is most certainly not an "industry standard". I have never seen a 3rd person action game include an FOV slider for such a dumb reason.

I can only conclude that you're trolling.
