Stuck
I don't know if I am missing something, but I've gotten to a point in the French campaign, where I can't seem to activate the next story mission. On top of that, I've conquered all the currently unlocked territories outright but nothing happens. I keep doing these done in 15 second missions with my level 98 character (Marie is at 72) where there's just one town on the map to take inevitably ending in a D rank.

I don't know quite what to make of it....

Assuming it's same as the console version, there are two things people do wrong while playing this game:
- level up a single fast moving class to max level,
- play for one side dominating on all maps.

Game guides you to invest into and level up all unit types and to work for whoever pays more(loosing side) very early in the game, the fact that you have lots of freedom to do otherwise doesn't mean you can actually complete the game how you want, nor that you'll have more fun doing it:P.

First of all, having one high level unit makes the game boring and very easy against any lower level opponents which you're experiencing now and I doubt you consider it much fun even if that was your choice. Also can get pretty bothersome once you fight against lvl 99 opponents that counter your class(which in 100 years war campaing only happens long after after finishing the france/england side - which doesn't end the game btw;p, but in fantasy campaign is pretty early on hard difficulty mode).

Second which is your game breaking issue, you trully can't "pick side" in this game. The only moment your choice matters is during a story mission which game will ask you to save in separate slot(somewhat important for last hidden character unlock that most people never get anyway;p), before and after you have to mix doing missions for both sides, otherwise you'll never see all events/sidequests and many of them are required to progress through the game. They also never show up after every single mission for one side, so playing by concentrating on one nation then doing another makes the game at least twice as long, your score much lower because of map domination and decent loot rarer since you don't kill as much generals and base commanders.

If you feel really bored with the game by now, but still have fantasy campaign to do, I would recommend doing it now, since your character and unlocks(except non-secret character unlocks) is shared for both campaigns(and even older saves) so it's not like you'll have to start from 0, after finishing the extra campaign you'll also get an menu option to unlock fantasy units in 100 years war campaign and it will certainly be refreshing.
