Yep!
You'll play it for a bit. Personally, I played it a lot until I didn't receive any more story quests. I got stuck halfway through the story mode and couldn't advance due to not receiving story quests.
It's fun until then, though.
You can also use different unit types, especially ones you haven't levelled much, if you want more of a challenge though.
I'd say it's definitely worth it at the sale price. I loved this game on console and finally got it here too now thanks to the sale.
you only had one mercenary, and unless you hired mercenaries to spawn in, you had to use the ones the game spawned in front of you, so you'd have a combination of "rock paper scissors" and "take what you're offered" and "gotta level up every book seperately" so you'd be constantly changing units (unless you hired units to spawn in)
now you get 4 mercenaries, 3 of which only need to max one book while you, the player can still do it the original way, or you can just play as intended and use lvl 45 units in lvl 17 battles and just get zero challenge out of any of this
