>CrowbCat makes video about poor marketing and few people playing it
>Makes people want to play it even less
GG
Except he is. He takes stuff out of context, puts some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ music to go with it, and this is "humor." It's basically just trolling videos.
And the prick was also wrong about No Man's Sky and Sean Murray. They worked hard for a year, didn't run with the money and the game is even better now.
CrowbCat is just a poser looking for a way to make himself relevant. I'd rather give my attention to more intelligent YouTube content. He's like scraping the barrel looking for a scandal in anything. Like those paparazzo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Yeah, no thanks.
Don't tell me you're excusing Cliff for his douchebag pompeous attitude, for that was the main point of his upload.
I don't care about Cliff's or anyone's "attitude." What I care about is the quality of the game that gets put out. The fact is that LB is a solid game, that is sadly going unnoticed.
Not my business what comes out of Cliffy B's mouth or anyone's.
And pompous? If it came out of a developer you liked it would be "ambitious." My point is, perceptions get colored by emotions, and most of what CrowbCat does is character assassination - for views. Because hate and cynicism SELL nowadays.
Crowbcat just summarise short life of this game plus Cliffy attitude. Calling Xbox players salty (where he is a recognisable person thanks to the Xbox), calling Overwatch multiple times. Who is salty now?
Only angry fans trying to protect this game as hard as they can, but numbers are not lying.
I understand, that criticizing the game is now calling "hate"? Maybe u shouldl earn the definition of words?
And one more: if the game is so solid, so much fun - why the player base is low right from the start? I will tell u - maybe it`s just not that great? Maybe there is so many shooters that LB just can`t get through? Which is another thing telling that this game is another generic shooter with heroes choosing. But hey, just my guess. You can always lie to yourself.
The gameplay is different than in other shooters. I grew up with shooters, and LB reminds me of the golden era of arena shooters (UT, Q3A, also Tribes).
Nowadays most shooters are either the "realistic" way (BF, COD, Vietnam) or the MOBA-Shooter combination (OW, Battleborn, Smite, etc.). Now, LB breaks away from this trend, offers me a special gaming experience, which I really really like! Because I grew up with UT and Q3A.
My point is, I'm not defending a "bad" game. The game IS good. The problem is it's not trendy, and what's fashionable now is very different. But a small portion of gamers today wanted a game like this and they got it.
You seem to equate popularity and quality. That's really shallow thinking. Is Justin Bieber the best musician on Earth because he's extremely popular? No, of course not. Is FarmVille the best video game ever because it was extremely popular? No, of course not, etc. You get my point.
Niche art (niche genres, in games, movies, literature, music, you name it) are never popular and never make it to the mainstream. That's why you have pop music, and other types of music. Why you have chick-lit and cheap novels, and why you have deep novels that a small number of people actually bother to read.
It seems to me there should be such a distinction in games as well. OW is clearly "pop" (as for being popular), but this doesn't make it a great game. It makes it entertaining, like a Bieber song for example. PUBG? Same thing. One map, it's basically a mod, and if you compared it to a Witcher 3 for example, the difference is astronomical. Etc.
My point is, you're not really sharp. You seem convinced you are though, at which point I will suggest you do some reading about the Dunning-Krueger syndrome.
If I'm wrong and you're motivated out of good will, to objectively discuss the merits of a game, then I'm open to discussion. But if you're guided by malice and hatred and just all-round dissatisfaction with your personal life, so all you can say is "but game iz not popular hurr durr", then I'm afraid you'll be making a fool of yourself.
As for criticism, a lot can be leveled at the game by me as well. For example, the progression system needs to be better, there should be more mods, 1 V 1 should be a thing, and maybe make it F2P at this point, since it will boost the playerbase.
Otherwise, the game is solid, no bugs, waiting time is short, classes are almost perfectly balanced... What more could one want? It's a polished game. The popularity has nothing to do with the quality. If that was the case, people wouldn't be playing mods.
It's a real shame Lawbreakers went down the hero shooter path instead of a true arena FPS.
Wait....what did Cliffy B do that was so bad? I haven't kept up with him really since he left Epic. Regardless, one thing I liked about him was his design philosophy for LawBreakers (which didn't fully manifest into the game, but is interesting nonetheless).
You seen his Evolve video? His Ouya video? His Switch launch video? All very real things that happened, nothing fake there, just like with Lawbreakers.
