It's not working though. No files are downloaded. Looking at SteamDB[steamdb.info] it seems that the Linux depot was only added to the beta and developer packages, and not the one that's being sold through Steam. This seems to be the case for the Mac version too.
Thanks for that info, that helped me narrow down the problem. Please try again and let me know what you find.
Thanks!
Currently you're assuming that Player 1 is always a keyboard by default and that the first gamepad (js0) wants to override that, you're also mapping each joystick device to a specific player (eg. js0 is P1, js1 is P2).
This creates a few situations:
- You can't have a player on keyboard in addition to gamepads.
- If you have multiple controllers connected you have to hunt around for the first gamepad to play singleplayer.
- Random devices that use the joystick driver can reserve a slot meant for a gamepad.
A possible solution would be to:
- Assume that the device used to enter the level selection screen is P1, that way both keyboard and gamepad will work without the need to override.
- Assign additional players in the order they press buttons.
In my case I have a tablet device hogging js0, and I also have a wireless keyboard I can use from the couch as an additional player. It's not a deal-breaker since in my case the Steam Controller I'm using can be remapped to work around the issue but I wanted to let you know.
I ask this because a review stated "You will only like this if you're a fan of the series" or something of the like. Wouldn't it be better to introduce us to the one that will get us invested in the series? (I don't know which one; the only known title I know from Wayforward is Shantae).
Will we see more Wayforward titles or was this to test the waters? Because if it is the latter, then that seems backwards and you might be disappointed if that review was on point.
Again, don't get me wrong, I might end up checking it out, but I would like clarification.
Thats Windows only though...
