My workarounds for the texture flickering problem
I've got a good fast PC gaming rig. I like to max out all the graphical settings in my games. But like many others I've suffered from terrible texture flickering and graphical artifact problems when playing Wolfenstein The Old Blood (version 1.0).

I've found three workarounds for this issue which work for me that I'd like to share in case they fix the problem for you also. The first workaround involves disabling VSync, the second workaround is window mode and Vsync on, and the third workaround allows fullscreen VSync on but requires also using a third party software tool, Dxtory.

Workaround 1 (Vsync disabled):

Step 1) In your nVidia control panel, set the "Vertical Sync" option to be "use the 3D application setting."

Step 2) Start the game, and go into the Options.

Step 3) In the Video options screen, set the Vertical Sync option to be "Off". Now choose "Apply".

Step 4) In the Advanced Video options, set the Anti-Aliasing to either 2x or Disabled. Now click Apply.

Step 5) Play the game.

Workaround 2 (window mode with VSync enabled):

Step 1) In your nVidia control panel, set the "Vertical Sync" option to be "use the 3D application setting."

Step 2) Right click your task bar in Windows and choose Properties. Tick "Auto-hide the taskbar" and choose OK.

Step 3) Start the game, and go into the Options.

Step 4) In the Video options screen, set Display Mode to be "Windowed".

Step 5) In the Video options screen, set the Vertical Sync option to be "On". Now choose "Apply".

Step 6) In the Advanced Video options, set the Anti-Aliasing to either 2x or Disabled. Now click Apply.

Step 7) Play the game.

Workaround 3 (fullscreen with VSync enabled):

Step 1) In your nVidia control panel, set the "Vertical Sync" option to be "use the 3D application setting."

Step 2) Quit FRAPS if you are running it. (FRAPS seems to clash with Dxtory upon the game's startup, and disables this workaround. Don't worry you can start FRAPS back up once you're in the game.)

Step 3) Download and install the latest version of the "Dxtory" tool, if you don't already have it.

Step 4) Run Dxtory.

Step 5) Go to the Advanced tab (third from the right).

Step 6) Tick "Limit Video FPS" at the bottom. Now set the number to be 59. (This workaround requires the number to be 59, and not 60, or it doesn't work).

Step 7) Start the game, and go into the Options screen.

Step 8) Set the Vertical Sync option to be "On" in the game's video setting options. Now choose "Apply".

Step 9) In the Advanced Video options, set the Anti-Aliasing to either 2x or Disabled. Now click Apply.

Step 10) Play the game with Vsync enabled and free of annoying texture flickering.

Optional step 11) If you like using FRAPS to monitor frame rates, you can now Alt-Tab out of the game back to Windows and start FRAPS. FRAPS seems to clash with Dxtory upon launching the game, but once the Dxtory frame limit fix kicks in you can start FRAPS back up again.

Now I can finally enjoy my purchased game free of annoying texture flickering graphical artifacts. I hope one of these workarounds works for you as well.

This game loads 1 gb cache each time the game is played as with Rage also. This causes texture pop in and stuttering. The way to get around it to add +fs_cachepath D:\temp to the shortcut (change last folder to your liking) and the 1 gb cache will stay permanently loaded making gameplay much smoother.

Thanks for the suggestion, mikeopam, however the +fs_cachepath shortcut doesn't fix the texture flickering problem for me. The Dxtory frame limit method above does.

Did you enable CUDA in advance options? That caused flickering for me, once turned off it ran fine.

Despite owning modern nVidia cards in SLI, my CUDA option is greyed out and unselectable. It is set to Off.

Workaround 1 and this (http://steamcommunity.com/app/350080/discussions/0/620712364043746268/) solved the texture issues for me.

Simply changing the textures from that blend mode to pop mode (somewhere in the settings) solved it for me, while all oother ways didn't

I do not have any blend or pop mode in advanced settings, but found solution for me. I changed all the settings to medium and flickering is gone. Then I put all settings back one by one to ultra except "image streaming" which I kept on medium but high works as well. I turned CUDA feature off before but I am not sure whether this make any difference.

I think turning off the Vertical Sync worked
