Yeah... would be so much better if the hotkeys on the keypad worked... oh... wait.
And yeah, it's so challenging to remember.
1 - knife
2 - pipe
3 - pistol
4 - machinegun
5 - rifle
6 - shotgun
7 - rocket pistol
You only have to use the weapon wheel if you want to use the sawed off shotgun, or the turret.
BTW, my issue are not with the keyboard controlls but with the weapon selection wheel. There are at least half a dozen solutions that work way better that the one implemented in Wolfenstein reboots. Prime example is a commo rose variant where you simply have to hold a predefined keyboard key and move your mouse to the appropriate weapon.
I did.
Played the game twice, and the Challenge Map for the bridge.
Zero issues selecting the weapon I needed to take out the various enemies, including the Panzerhund.
And, even when using the weapon wheel... there's nothing wrong with it. Quick and effecient.
I also find the whell not so efficient. But is there a way to select weapons in a fps with mouse that is really efficient? No I doubt.
So I suggest you to set each guns on keyboard keys. Q and E is usefull. And than 123.
I liked the system in GTA V myself..it's like the rose variant you mentioned but it also slows down time so it allows for comfortable selection of the necessary weapons.
