Takedown Shotgun Enemies In Stealth?

Takedowns don't seem to work on these guys. Is there a way to take these orange bastards quietly? Every time they show up it ends stealth.

You should leave them for the last.
When I played, I could always go around, kill the commanders and regulars first. Than you can snipe their tanks.

I did try closing in, shooting akimbo pistols, but it doesn't seem to be possible.
At least not on Death Incarnate.

you have to avoid them till last, once you see their route it's really easy to avoid them.

You can't stealth kill them.

But one Sshot in the Tank with the Sniper and they explode, perfectly to kill them as last before Commander to raise Alarm in Challenges, else in normal play kill Commander and kill them as last with one Shot into the Tank wih the Sniper, Boom... LOL!

Yeah, the heavies are unable to be taken down. You'll just have to avoid them if you're doing a stealth run.
