Nightmare Silver 'Guide'

For those who didn't know, finding all the silver in the nightmare levels unlocks classic characters in the viewer. There is no achievement for this nor does it count towards your completion score. This is merely here as an extra challenge for completionists.

Now that I've completed all Nightmare levels finding all silver I thought I'd offer a bit of help. First, those old maps or 100% youtube playthroughs for Episode 1 of Wolfenstein 3D are all you need with one exception which I'll talk about later. Here are some of the better maps of Episode 1 I've seen online. Also please note, the Macintosh, SNES and Jaguar versions of Wolf 3D had COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LEVEL DESIGN. So maps and guides for those versions will NOT help you collect treasure.

Amount of Silver in each level:

-Prologue Nightmare Maps one & ten: 136 Silver
IMPORTANT this map contains the entrance to the secret level 10.

-Chapter One Nightmare Map two: 62 Silver

-Chapter Two Nightmare Map three: 66 Silver

-Chapter Three Nightmare map four: 40 Silver

-Chapter Four Nightmare map five: 73 Silver

-Chapter Five Nightmare map six: 44 Silver
IMPORTANT note about this chapter. The above maps are accurate with the exception of this map. MachineGames have added a new region in the south/southwest area of the map. You can find the secret entrance in the south wall of the hallway with two tables, two guards and one blue ss guard. It contains 4 silver you would miss if you strictly follow the above maps.

-Chapter Six Nightmare map seven: 18 Silver

-Chapter Seven Nightmare map eight: 16 Silver

-Chapter Eight Nightmare map nine: 10 Silver

And yes It's a fun easter egg but with modern movement speed the maps are just so tedious..

I don't know about maps that show the exact locations of the silver, but any 100% completionist walkthrough on Youtube should have all the treasure locations.

This guy has a 100% playthrough of episode 1. Again, please note that the Nightmare map from chapter 5 has an extra secret not in the classic DOS version.

If you go back into the Nightmare while you are still on the level any you collected remain collected. However, if you beat the level and reload it later silver is reset.

I have found out by myself: menu>extra>collectibles>characters>search anything with nightmare in it, for example: < Nightmare dog. Congratulations!! You have collected all 136 silver items in the prologue nightmare. > This is the proof you really catch all silver in one nightmarelevel.
