So... its kind of a reboot and a sequel to RtCW. Things should be more clear when it comes out.
Yes I'm a huge Wolfenstein nerd.
yes
If they were to include this, it would officially make TNO/TOB the start of the "reboot".
Yes you are, and you are awesome for it :)
OR the castle was rebuilt somewhere else, considering it's fate in Wolf '09 while the woman's name could be just a coincidence.
The castle itself can't be at the same place as the valley containing the tram thing is much larger and wider than it's RTCW counterpart. I consider it a sequel, not a reboot.
Helga Von Bulow made an appearance in RTCW.
Dr. Schabbs was a boss in Wolf3d.
It's said that the inspiration for Wilhelm Strasse was in fact Dr. Schabbs.
Gretel and Hans Grösse were also bosses in Wolf3D, and Hans Grosse in Wolf09(?).
Trans Grösse was a boss in Spear of Destiny.
I'm curious to know if the Grösse family of Wolf3D/SOD is related and will carry over to the this package in any way...
Also to see if Willhelm Strasse is in any way associated to Helga Von Schabbs, given the relationship in character development...
As for it being moved from the Harz Mountains of Northern Germany to the Bavarian Alps of Southern Germany thats a pretty big thing to do in the 3 years between RtCW (May 1943) and The New Blood (May 1946). Yes I realize its a bit goofy to complain about the realism of moving an entire castle in 3 years when they're also building super mechs and robo dogs at the time. Its possible it was nothing more than an oversight, with the devs of Old Blood not realizing that in RtCW they totally point out where the castle is located in the briefing.
The name COULD be a coincidence, but really, practically the same name with a similar profession. Von Bulow was head of the SS Paranormal Division while Von Schabbs is described simply as an Archaeologist though thats pretty much what Van Bulow was doing.
I don't really mind either way if this is sequel, reboot or a bit of both... but the evidence is really pointing to a reboot of at least the first two chapters of RtCW.
Customers will be clueless of the complete story..
