Mouse wheel selection not working in Windows 10

So, my computer was running Wolfentein fine on Windows 7 - no issues. I have now upgraded to Windows 10, and the mouse wheel isn't working in Wolfenstein (it definitely still works in Windows 10, I can scroll up and down in the web browser with it). But for some reason it's not working in Wolfenstein, so I can't select the shotgun.

Does anyone else have this issue with Windows 10?

I'm also seeing some graphics and sound glitches too, it ran like it was in slow motion (even though it was still smooth), and crackling in the audio. I'm guessing there's some W10 issues running this game. :(

I'm running in W10 with no issues (mouse wheel works, no visual issues), i7w/GTX970. I did the upgrade, not a clean install. I did install the latest video drivers after upgrading, though; dunno about the mouse wheel issue.

Okay what I'm finding is that the wheel mouse DOES work in Wolfenstein, but you really have to turn the wheel really fast (and a lot) to make the weapon selection wheel appear, and it's a real struggle to select the right weapon. There's definitely a bug somewhere. :(

I have the solution, at least it's worked for me. I've played Wolfenstein: The New Order on Windows 7, everything worked normally. Since I've installed Windows 10, I've also installed the driver from my Razer Mouse, and the mousewheel didnt work in Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. So I uninstalled the driver and all works wonderfully. Sorry for my bad english. I hope I could help you.

I always use windows stock drivers for gaming mice no matter what, the only time a mouse driver is necessary is if its a crazy kind of mouse with dozens of buttons. Installing the mouse driver that came with the gaming mouse always seems to cause more problems than not

Until it's fixed, and if reinstalling common redistributables (try it, they can often get corrupted when upgrading) doesn't work, your best bet may just be to use 1-9 like a real man. I'm a Quake vet, so I'm a bit used to that, but it doesn't take too long to figure it out.

This is a Windows 10 driver issue, and it likely is the result of a Windows 10 upgrade, as opposed to a new install (has anyone actually installed Windows 10, as opposed to going through the upgrade process?).

The solution is to go into device manager:
Start, settings (gear icon), devices (bluetooth, printers, mouse).
Scroll the page down, until you see "Related settings". there is a link to device manager there.
Click on it. Now you should see a more-or-less familiar device manager, like the good old days.

In device manager, look for "Mice and other pointing devices". Click the >, next to it.
You should now see a list of mice. Now most of you physically only have one mouse, and if you see several here, you need to get rid of the ones you're not actually using.

For most people, even with fancy mice, you only need to have "HID Compliant mouse". I have a Logitech wireless M185, and naturally assumed that the 2 HID Compliant mice on the list could be deleted. So I deleted the first HID compliant mouse, and instantly lost mouse control. I had to use ALT-A, to open the Action menu, and use the arrow keys to select "scan for hardware changes to get my mouse control back. The first mouse on the list under Mice and other pointing devices is usually the one you're using, so oddly enough, I removed the Logitech M185 mouse, and still had mouse control.

To remove the unwanted mouse drivers, right-click on them, and select "uninstall" from the menu that pops up. If it asks you whether you want to delete the drivers, you can say yes. When all you have is the one HID compliant mouse, you should be able to close the device manager, and go back into Wolfenstein New Order or Old Blood, and everything should be back to normal.

Oh -- don't forget to reset the controls in Wolfenstein back to default, because I know many of you had tried reconfiguring controls to deal with the issue.
