How do I get out of the mech?

I can't figure it out and I bet it's staring me in the face.

Same key you used to get in the thing, 'E' I think. Had the same problem and from memory couldn't get out because I had not completed all the things that you need to do while in it. Almost drove me nuts.

Yeah I found out it was spacebar. Too bad it's not in the controls menu.

Yes, pity we are not told. I must have hit that in frustration after hitting everything else before. You don't use those things much so it's easy to forget what you need to do.

It actually did tell you when you first got in, with a little tooltip. Q to pull out a rifle or shotgun while inside the mech, Crouch or Jump to get out.

Oh well, I must have missed that. I had no trouble with the weapon selection as I used it quite a lot. But obviously missed the other message.

For me, it popped up as soon as I was in control, but the bit about Q didn't pop up until I was already losing health to a climber and couldn't figure out what to do about it. It came up after I had already jumped out of the mech.

Sometimes I find that if you get totally involved in what you are doing (and trying not to get killed) you can miss stuff that pops up also.
