Possible fix for poor performance on AMD RX cards
Note: this worked for me personally with my RX480, but as always with this sort of thing, YMMV.
1. Rename WolfOldBlood_x64.exe to WolfOldBlood_x86.exe and set it to run as admin.
2. Launch the game by double-clicking the newly-renamed EXE.
3. If Steam gives you a "missing executable" error, make a new text file in your Old Blood install directory called "steam_appid.txt" containing the number 350080.
Once you get into the game, the two most important graphics settings you want to turn down are max PPF and shadow size. They don't have much of a visible benefit, but incur a huge performance hit, at least on AMD cards. Set other settings as needed.
"no need for any changing of files or executables ... download the AMD 17.5.2 driver from http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.5.2-Release-Notes.aspx ( download links further down the page ) and this will sort out the problem ...when prompted during the installation it will show latest driver and local driver .. click local driver .. this will update to 17.5.2"
It worked on mine without having to downgrade my drivers. Thanks!
does not work for me
I had upgraded to 17.4.x or 17.5.x, can't remember, and it broke it. Black screen flicker, and crash to desktop with no error message or prompt. The experimental version (this .6.2 one) can be accessed from the Radeon settings. Just check for a new version even if you're up to date, and accept the install.
Worked for me. Latest AMD video drivers fixed it.
Pleasantly surprised.
