EDIT: I play this game with friends weekly using Parsec over on my discord server. So "true" co-op isn't really an issue for us. That being said, most of my friends don't have the game, haha.
Workshop is internal so that we don't get flooded with copyright infringement claims from user-created content.
Well, there's a sub-forum for workshop discussions. If developers want they can post about their creations there. There is also discord, which everyone seems to like. To me its just a forum where everyone posts on the same thread. I don't really see the advantage of it over a forum.
Lack of normal multiplayer could be a total bummer BUT it's a turn based tactics, you can improvise stuff if you're so inclined to.
Like streaming your screen to your friend and operating your friend's hero under your friend's command (as you'll likely be in a voice chat anyway).
It's... not entirely the game's fault. This genre is hard to incorporate cooperative mode into due to its redundancy AND availability of other means for co-op'ing such games. Low value, a lot of work with UI.
(there's no PVP or otherwise competitive mode anyway sooooo you're not losing much by resorting to such improvised multiplayer means)
(hmmmm, why this game is listed as multiplayer, anyway?)
BTW is anyone interested in hotseat PVP in this game?
